Corruption & Incompetence. This is Not Your Grandfather's GOP.
Edited on Sun Oct-02-05 11:01 AM by Stephanie

How the mighty have fallen.

Mr. DeLay's latest plight is only a tiny detail within this vast Boschian canvas of depravity. If this were Watergate -- and Watergate itself increasingly looks like a relatively contained epidemic of corruption -- the Texas grand jury's indictment of the congressman and his associates would be a sideshow tantamount to the initial 1973 California grand jury indictment of the Nixon aide John Ehrlichman and his pals in the break-in at Daniel Ellsberg's psychiatrist's office; Watergate's real legal fireworks were still in the wings. So forget about all those details down in Texas that make your teeth hurt; don't bother to learn the difference between Trmpac and Armpac. Fasten your seat belt instead for the roller coaster of other revelations and possible indictments that's about to roar through the Beltway. - FRANK RICH, 10/2/05

3. I'm not a fan of "TinyUrl"
I see the benefits, but I get don't like it when someone links to my site via a TinyUrl.

Sites like mine depend heavily of Google; Google primarily ranks sites based on how many people link to it. (A link to DU, for example, is considered a "vote" for DU.)

TinyUrl short-circuits that whole process. Now, TinyUrl gets the vote. In the long-run, TinyUrl might destroy the ability for search engines to do their job.

Just saying.

6. Are you sure that Google don't take that into account?
They keep their algorithms secret, so that people can't game them, but I'd think they'd have recognised the tinyurl problem some time ago.

4. Did you see John Eisehower's article in October '04?
He wrote the article about why he was voting for John Kerry and said, "Today's 'Republican' party is one which which I am totally unfamiliar." www.theunionleader.com/articles_showa.html?article=44657
