Oct 1 (Reuters) - Following are security incidents reported in Iraq on Friday, Oct 1, as of 1330 GMT.

U.S. and Iraqi forces are battling a Sunni Arab insurgency against the Shi'ite- and Kurdish-led government in Baghdad.

An asterisk * denotes a new or updated item.

*KIRKUK - Three policemen and a civilian were killed and ten others wounded when a roadside bomb exploded near an Iraqi police patrol in Kirkuk, 250 km (150 miles) north of Baghdad, police and medical sources said. Police earlier said the blast had killed four civilians.

MIQDADIYA - Two Iraqi soldiers were killed and three wounded when gunmen attacked them while they were heading to work in Miqdadiya, northeast of Baghdad, police said.

QAIM - Ten people were killed and eight wounded when U.S. forces conducted an air strike on the western city of Qaim, 320 km (200 miles) west of Baghdad, doctor Amir al-Obedi at Qaim's main hospital said.

BAGHDAD - Police said a U.S patrol was struck by a roadside bomb in western Baghdad. One civilian was injured in the incident, a witness said. The U.S. military had no immediate information.

BASRA - A Danish soldier was killed and two were seriously wounded when a roadside bomb struck their vehicle outside Basra, 550 km (340 miles) south of Baghdad, police and Danish officials said.

BAGHDAD - A U.S. soldier was killed when a roadside bomb struck a patrol at 8 a.m. (0500 GMT) in central Baghdad, the military said in a statement.

BAIJI - A U.S. soldier was killed when a patrol hit a mine near the oil refining town of Baiji, 180 km (110 miles) north of the capital, the military said in a separate statement.

MAHMUDIYA - Fifteen people were arrested in Mahmudiya, just south of Baghdad. The Iraqi Islamic Party, a Sunni Arab political group, said that most of them were party members and asked the Ministry of Interior to release them immediately.
