| Scandals Aside, General Winter will Sink the Repugs ! |
|
Despite the growing optimism that we are experiencing lately, regarding the plethora of scandals and media meltdowns, it will be the cost of heating a home in the Northern states this winter that will send the Repugs off to the land of "political remission".
The very promise of this "energy savvy" administration to deliver the goods to the American people will, ironically, be their undoing.
General Winter is still undefeated.

| 1. I'm worried about people around my parts. |

Lots of people will be firing up wood stoves for the first time and that means lots of fires. Also, a lot of people will freeze to death. Isn't life in republican America just wonderful??
Living at 50 degrees will raise the misery index. I wonder if any of the people that STILL support Bush will be convinced. I think the kool-aid may be more powerful than the survival instinct.

We were talking about the PBS show on the 60's. And how there is no draft which would be a tremendous catalyst at this point.
So I said, but wait, wait until the winter when heating will be astronomical. There was an article within the last couple of days about how most people are not seeing this yet. But cost could go as high as doubling.
I know Britain is already warning about problems in the UK if they have cold winter....
The Repubs won't disappear, but people may start waking up when reality hits them personally.

Both parties have been through many political storms and survived. To think that either part is about to vanish is simply wishful thinking.

A period of ineffectiveness is all. Kind of like our party today.

| 6. Does deregulation figure into this? |
|
Utilities used to be regulated so heating costs remained stable. I know mine have gone up steadily since this dereg crap started.
