Guess who just called me personally? Tom 'Bugman' DeLay!
OK, so it was a recording, but I'm sensing some desperation in the repug party. He chatted about the out-of-control DA and partisan distraction, also letting me know about some fluff he's sending out next week with talking points to prove his innocence.
Damn, that was fun to listen to. I could hear him sweat!

Or is he calling everywhere?

5. Do you expect them to move the trial out of Travis County?
I've heard a couple of rumors to that effect myself today but no real details to substantiate the claims yet.

7. Seems to me he might be getting worried about
the 06 election and is trying to spin all the negative. Too late, Bugman!

9. What's the mood of the people there toward him?
Have you noticed any people who were supporters beginning to question him?

11. I don't know. He only got 55% of the vote last year, so
I'm thinking he's going down next year, if he's not in jail by then. Oh, happy day!!!

13. That % was the lowest on record for him, wasn't it?
I think I heard that last night on one of the local news programs. If he had that hard of a time keeping his seat without an actual indictment it's got to be a good sign for '06.

I'm hoping to see his career end one way or the other over all of this, too.

8. Gotta think they're hoping. It only takes one juror to hang 'em.
Moving the trial was what stopped Kay's trial. It sure wasn't her lack of guilt.

10. Hutchinson's case is a hot topic in my area today
There's plenty of speculation that DeLay's defense will attempt to use similar methods.

6. Thank God Delay isn't partisan
It would sure look stupid to have someone who strong-armed lobbyist and corporations into only supporting the GOP to be talking about partisan politics...

14. That's really funny. Did he say he was under a suicide watch?
That sounds like he's a bit worried, no?
