So Judy Miller is singing in court tomorrow
Edited on Thu Sep-29-05 08:14 PM by Generator
The grand jury was to expire 10/28. Don't tell me she couldn't want a mere 30 days more to protect her lovely neo-cons. Does this mean she's going to lie like a dog, or she was a sacred rabbit that Fitzgerald was going to ask for another grand jury? Thoughts?

Edit: Here it says she would have been freed 10/28 but could have been held on a criminal contempt of court charge.

1. she was going to be charged with criminal contempt, most likely
which is why she is deciding to sing. she is willing to lie for them though.

3. I am not so sure she is willing to lie for them to a grand jury?
That is like playing with matches while standing up to ones waist in gasoline.

10. Right!
She lies to the grand jury at her own peril. She has no way of knowing what they already know. There is an old saying that a good lawyer never asks a question unless he or she already knows the answer. Remember that next time you talk to a lawyer.

2. I guess she figures that if they can get Tom Delay who is someone
...very powerful, then Judy Miller who has no power at all and even fewer friends is a sitting duck!

Sing, quack, whatever it takes, let the big guys fall Judy, they aren't looking after your ass sweetie!

4. I think she and Bolton and Libby got their stories in line
and she will only tell the truth as is known and lie through her teeth about the rest.

11. Were her visits with them private?
Was she allowed to conduct confidential discussions with them? I would be surprised if she was. They are not her lawyers. They are not even family members, as if that would make a difference. On the other hand, I don't know if the prosecutor was having her visits monitored or had the authority to have them monitored.

12. mr bolton had secret documents in his rear passage...
that he smuggled into her cell. These papers had important instructions on what she could and couldn't say. He "passed" these papers without being caught and judy is good to go.

13. Ha! This whole thing is like a spy novel
which is why it fascinates me. I just wish the fate of my country wasn't resting so heavily upon it. I get the feeling from doing some more reading that this timing is all Libby's doing. He could have given her the "personal" release before she even went to jail. But he did not. (I read that he signed a blanket release that Judy felt was coerced by the WH so it wasn't his own free will-man just writing that is a joke because it seems anybody that works for the BFEE has no free will anyway-they are the frigging mafia!)

So what they have all decided to say or who is to fall is anybody's guess. It does sound like Libby is going to take the fall..but damn it..we all know it's Cheney's doing. You know Libby wouldn't take a bathroom break without permission from Dick. No..he was the one giving the a-okay. How stupid do they think we are? IF Libby falls how can they NOT tie it too Cheney? I guess I dream too much.

6. Here's a thought...
Is there any possibility that as Ms. Miller realized the deep crap she was in that she decided to go to jail for protection from the administration?

Perhaps she planned on squealing a long time ago, but decided to wait out the time in a relatively safe jail cell instead of at home until Fitzy had gotten all his eggs collected? Perhaps these little meetings with Bolton etc haven't been 'patty-cake' with her pals, but intimidation ploys by the admin.?

Just a thought... The excuse for her leaving the jail - that 'Libby gave her the A-OK, again' - seems lame...

7. I think she's someone who has lied her whole life.
Edited on Thu Sep-29-05 09:41 PM by LiviaOlivia
I may be wrong but from what I've read about her 30 years in journalism
I don't see honesty or balance but a RW political ideology masked as traditional journalism.
Pathological.
If she was honest she should have insisted on being published in the opinion section.

30 years of dis-information.

9. If she does I hope it's at the Baghdad Hilton.

If that's still standing. I hope she retires and moves to Israel. She'll probably write a book about her martyrdom no doubt.

We are governed by fucking gangsters. I expect the worst and pray for justice.

14. She Would Be Taking a HUUUUUGE Gamble Lying To Cover For The Scum
She has no clue what Fitz knows. She'd be setting herself up in a BIG TIME perjury trap as far as she knows.
