| Walmart: my dad says all the negative publicity was to force a union. |
|
My father said today that he believes that all the negative publicity about Walmart was to force them to unionize. Says they buy from the same suppliers as Target and all the rest of the department stores.
I think it is way more than that for instance Walmart workers make the worst wages and have little health care and can't climb he ladder as they just fire them and hire the next guy/gal at the gate.
Where is the best info on Walmart's worse abuses?

| 3. so what if they buy from the same suppliers? |

the reason walmart, in particular, is being targetted is simply one of the most recognizable, and egregious violators of labor standards. that makes them a damned fine target. for the record, i'm entirely in favor of fully unionizing target and kmart employees too, among countless other chain stores. but you've gotta start somewhere, and you may as well pick the most obvious target.

That Walmart ENCOURAGES employees to leech off local social services instead of covering them itself. Therefore Walmart leads to increases in local taxes to support Walmart employees who aren't making enough to feed themselves or go to the doctor.
Any corporation that declares a profit while debiting the community is a parasite.

in general Aquart, but, I was and am unsure of how to explain it. Do they get food stamps etc.. How exactly does the government subsidize Walmart?
