Simon: 2,209 votes Coleman: 1,759 votes
10.6 percent of the precincts reporting. This was the best candidate the repigs could offer in the regular election, hence their need to abuse the recall provision and steal power by any means possible.

...despite having dropped out. Still, I see his abysmal failure in the 2002 election as one reason for the repig recall effort, so it's nice to see him polling in Coleman's league.
