Jerry Springer should host a political show on CNN or MSNBC
If he really wants to go back into politics he should give up his day job as host of a half-wit show for idiots and bumpkins and do what he does best--talk about national/international issues and opinions and interview newsmakers on a cable tv show perhaps on CNN or MSNBC. Whenever he speaks out on current events or politics the man makes a great deal of sence and is a liberal.

For instance tonight he looks at the irony of it all--a governor will be ousted who will probably have received more votes of support than the man who will replace him.

1. Except he was badly wrong
And they let him look foolish.

We need a new spin on this story, he's running with what we planned for two weeks ago.

It looks like Ahnold will have gotten more votes than Davis. Perhaps comfortably more. And more people look to have turned out than any race in history, so we can't go on about smaller #s of precincts.

There is no spin here. We barely won unions, we barely won Hispanics. This is not good.

2. I'm not so sure he is wrong yet
I'll wait for the final results.

3. I think that's a good idea
He said recently that he realizes he has to get more distance between himself and his current gig before he can be taken seriously. I believe he said that once his contract is up, maybe a year and a half. But I think that your idea of a political show would help him obtain credibility as well as distance. If he just disappears, he'll come back later and still be largely remembered as the guy with the trashy show.

I used to watch something on his network in the mornings, and sometimes would nod off and wake up during his show (frequently because of his show - noisy) I used to joke with my mom that I would leap up to change it just in case my neighbors could hear it. The thing is, from what I ever saw of it, he was just as weirded out as I was by the people who appeared, and did seem to have rational and logical observations. So, it seems like when he does appear in the political arena, our side may be able to reach some of those enamored of him during his trash TV days.

He does have canny political observations, was a local politician for some time (and already got the scandals out of the way), and is unafraid to speak his mind and be called (god forbid!) a liberal.

I agree it's too early to call this one clearly. I was amazed when I saw that barely an hour after the polls closed and after all the cautions about thousands of absentee ballots. Plus, wasn't there something on DU this morning about late-mailed/received absentee ballots and that you could fax them in? That's crazy! Okay, fine, the ballots can be faxed, but was it like Florida, where *certain* areas treated differently than others. How many low-income families have easy access to a fax machine - nice little poll tax payable at Kinko's, huh?

My feeling is that this ain't really over til there's been a few court rulings. But I think it's nuts to concede before the absentees are in.
