1. Yes indeed and a convicted felon can never vote
or own a gun. Not to mention jail time.

26. Not never.
They just have to serve their debt to society and then they can vote again. At least in Texas, that's how it works.

31. Mr. Delay, are you "off the paper?"
(Slang for "no longer on probation.")

Great! Then I can register you to vote!

6. Love the mention of SEARS - Puts a new light on Laura's TV show trip
Not a major amount, but still - Sears = Repub = Pals = Corrupt. So that's where Laura asks to go, of course. (or should we say - has to go, probably Rove set it up).

12. Absolutely. As if Laura would call ABC saying I want to be on your show.
Also - I heard today the actual show won't be ON until November. Won't that be interesting depending on what happens to Bush between now and then...

11. Well, the indictment is flawed on its face.
It claims DeLay acted "intelligently" ... which, of course, is biologically impossible for the cockroach. :silly:

14. And where did most of the money come from?
A collection agency. Figures.

So the next time a bill collector calls you, tell him to go to Hell. He voted for the Repukes that made this happen.

15. Interesting. Delay waived his statute of limitations defense ...
...

He was not indicted out of the blue, then. His attorneys were aware of the pending indictment, and participated in its preparation.

Why would he waive the statute of limitations on a state jail felony charge? It says he waived it with the advice of counsel.

I'm a defense attorney, Federal, and have been a state defense attorney. The only reason I would advise a client to waive a statute of limitations objection to a felony is if it were in exchange for a reduced charge.

In other words, Ronnie Earle must have told Delay's attorneys that if he didn't agree to waive the statute of limitations for a state jail felony, he would be charged with something more serious, some sort of charge with a longer statute of limitations.

Hell, this case may already be headed for a plea bargain.

18. Better yet he drew the 331st, the court of the infamous "Judge Perkins"
Perkins is a real by-the-book, rule of law, hand down the punishment kind of guy.

Believe me... that is the last court in Travis Co. you want to draw...
He has a major rep down here.

*tee hee....

25. I'm not sure that indictment is legal
I don't believe either state or federal law provides for the indictment of cockroaches, even if they walk upright. DeLay's lawyers might very well be able to have this thrown out of court.

27. Are you suggesting Tom Delay is the creature in that movie "Mimic"?
Maybe while exterminating cockroaches in Texas, he used some kind of spray that caused one of them to mutate, kill him, and take his place and mimic his features.

29. Oh geez, I just saw part of that movie last night
What a coincidence. The sfx were surprisingly good.

And no, I did not mean to impugn cockroaches in any way. I'm sure most cockroaches go about their business without harming anyone else.
