I just got my power back after Rita, what is the news about Chaney
going into the hospital. How did the protest go in Washington.

I am so tired, been cleaning up since yesterday morning.

3. Cheney's operation was
a failure - he survived.

As for the protest, it was huge. The media coverage, however, was small - about what we've come to expect.

Glad your power is up. Hope everything will soon return to normal.

6. Everything is fine here. AC feels good.
We must have been on the edge of the hurricane because we got off easy.

Houston was a tense place to be last week, it has been a long time since we have had a hurricane. The last one was in August of 1983 and that was a bad one, trees went down everywhere.

We did not have power during KATRINA for FIVE DAYS ... all that we could do was take cold showers day and night, go to the nearest CIRCLE K which did have power to get coffee...and yes... it was exhausting cleaning up after the power came back!

And, if you have not seen this pix already, here is a pix. of
cheney (which was posted in another thread) as he was leaving the hospital. looks like morticia's uncle, doesn't he?
