"Recall Arnold" - - where do I sign up?
Yes I'm voting against the recall, but I'm not optimistic in the least.

So onto the next battle - who's in charge of the Recall Arnold campaign (I plan to start collecting signatures the minute he's sworn in) and where do I sign up?

And this goes out to Cali Dems everywhere! The battle has to continue...if we can recall Arnold within a year, the Repubs will think twice before doing it again.

1. I'm sure they'll be out in days
if Arnold slimes into office.

Just takes some money and paid signature gatherers.
Easy as that.

5. I'll volunteer to gather signatures
FOR FREE!!!! There's no need for it to cost a fortune. The Recall Arnold will be fueled by passionate people, not money.

2. First reason to recall Arnold
He won't be able to reverse the car tax hike. To reverse the hike he will have to replace the revenue that will be lost from another source which will have to be a tax increase elsewhere.

More than a few Californians will be pissed when they wake up and realize this.

3. Last night, Bernie Ward said there was already
some folks ready to take names. But they have to wait until Arnold is certified or sworn in. I'm not sure which.

8. This is a laugh to think it has anything to do with anything but money
But it does. I just voted NO on the RECALL and YES on BUSTAMANTE. I find it simply amazing how all this stuff is going, but the fix in would be my guess. There is no real democracy left, this whole B.S recall is just part of the plan. The corporate media is thick with thieves and crooks. I have heard stories of the corporate controlled media in Venezuela but what is going on here in California probably makes that stuff look like child’s play. If anybody has any hope for the corporate media coming around, you’re wishing for a very lost cause.

Living near this major hub for most of my life where so much of this stuff is spun out of, the LA basin it seems par for course and normal if you really didn’t understand what it’s implications were. The people who work for them places appear to be automatons and it seems they even believe most of the lies they spew out. They have this propaganda machine fine tuned and have bought out most anything someone could use to get a mass message out with (except for some books and web sites). To me these people are as bad as the creepy expletive of a thing they are trying to cover up for.

They seem to be doing all of it for this little piss ant job they have and that has no escape route from it. They cannot go to other places and pick up a new one like maybe some more normal jobs, for the other places they could go are owned by the same people. Can somebody blame them, maybe, but I myself would rather blame the cookie cutter education system that the USA places them in to make them that way.

This education system, the one they want to screw up even more. It’s about the whole thing and no one should sit down and take any of it. This stuff is all connected so pick your spot, dig in and keep on digging. We all can meet on the other side when we get through it.

Please try to excuse the rant, little bit angry here. Maybe this article is a little more focused on the subject.

Uncovering the real Arnold Schwarzenegger

(snip)
Leigh quotes the body-builder: “I wanted to be part of the small percentage of people who were leaders, not the large mass of followers. … I was always fascinated by people in control of other people.”

Schwarzenegger repeated a similar line when asked about his acceptance of contributions from wealthy corporate executives even as he denounced contributions to his Democratic rivals. “I will never take money from the special interests, from Indian gaming, from unions,” he told reporters on Labor Day. Later he added, “I get donations from business and individuals, absolutely, because they’re powerful interests who control things.” So far, Schwarzenegger reports $6.3 million in contributions from wealthy agribusiness, real estate developers, and Hollywood circles.

Schwarzenegger is an immigrant yet he voted for the racist Proposition 187 that would have denied undocumented immigrant children the right to attend public schools or receive public assistance benefits. Gov. Davis and the courts blocked its enforcement. Schwarzenegger came out against a bill just signed by Davis granting undocumented workers the right to obtain driver’s licenses.

For 15 years Schwarzenegger has served on the advisory board of U.S. English, a group that campaigns against bilingual programs. The Southern Poverty Law Center has revealed that U.S. English co-founder John Tanton funded 13 “hate groups” and is tied to the Council of Conservative Citizens once known as the White Citizens Council. Tanton delivered a speech a few years back in which he said, “As whites see their power and control … declining, will they simply go quietly into the night? Or will there be an explosion?”

7. Big Mistake
The recall was a big, disgusting republican ploy and many people see it at that - including most of us. Why would you want to drop to that level and erase all the legitimate arguements of partisan politics and dirty tricks?

The reactionary behavior of a counter-recall may seem satisfying at first, but it sabotages our long-term goals, and our basic prinicples and ideals.

Please remember: we didn't start this war, and as long as we keep fighting it on their terms and by their rules, we will lose. Think about why they make end runs like this recall, Texas and BBV: Because we win when everybody plays by the rules.

Beware the backlash of any counter-recall effort: It will just give the millions of disenfranchised, apathetic and cynical NON-Voters another reason to not vote Democrat. Sure the Repubs will try to pull this again - but let THEM be on the receiving end of the backlash - not us.

The best thing our party can do is to actually practice what we preach: fighting for the little guy. Get the women, minorities, and all-around decent folks to the polls.

Let Arnie tank on his own lack of merit. California needs to learn their lesson the hard way if this recall goes through. And they'll realize their mistake by about this time next year.

Have patience. Our voters will be baaaack for 2004!

9. Nope. Sorry. We played like that and lost.
Play fair and you lose. We are up against more than just someone who disagrees with us and the only way we can win is to fight back just as hard, just as bad.

If we continue to be the nancy-boys that we have been then we haven't got a prayer. Damn, we wont even have that since the GOP stole the biggest cornerstone of the progressive cause right off the bat...our churches.

11. That's correct, the kid gloves stuff is over
Threats, murders, rampant corporate crime, massive billion dollar fraud and whole host of other things. Some things are is just it comming to the surface but many remain hidden. These things will be found out and many others.

If I were one of them that had big things to worry about, I would be buying plane tickets to another country. Too many people now know too much and it will only be getting worse for them

Keep thumping that chest. I hope it doesn't come down to it, but if Arnold gets (s)elected, good luck with your recall. Maybe Alec Baldwin's available?

13. No I'm just sick of when
we dem's do the "non-partisan" thing and try to act "fair" - as if Bushie for one minute has any plans to be fair.

After selection 2000, when Gore bowed out, I knew we were in trouble.

After 9/11, when our resident went into his hidey hole and didn't come out till he saw his mommy I knew we were in trouble.

When the Dems all stood behind him and signed the patriot act, I REALLY knew we were in trouble.

They're so afraid of losing their jobs, they won't take a stand on ANYTHING. And to top it off, Gray Davis really pisses me off since THIS IS THE BATTLE FOR HIS POLITICAL LIFE AND HE'S USING KID GLOVES!!!

Vote No on the Recall. Yes on Bustamante. And if Davis keeps his seat, We need to open up a can of good-hearted whoopass on him.

16. I Agree...If Davis Had Taken the Gloves Off
We wouldn't even have to debate the next recall.

Democrats need to forcefully use all the power within their means to stop the Republican thugs. Democrats must viciously fight for their prinicpals. I see a counter-recall as a compromising of the principals, and if we fought them like we should have, it wouldn't have come down to this.

The burden of proof (defensive position) in the Davis recall lies in the Republicans and their supporters to show the state that they can fix California's problems. I'm willing to bet the ranch that they can't. Their failure puts us at an advantage, and will kill any future recall efforts. A pre-emptive Arnold strike will just put us back on the defensive.

If Arnold wins, take his ass to task. discredit him in every way possible. hammer him on ENRON. Utility-scam victims (most of California) should sue his ass and Ken Lay's. State democrats should assure Arnold's utter and complete failure as Governor. I'm just saying - Give him a chance to fail. Don't give his supporters a free pass to complain about Dem dirty tricks (which he's already doing - and it's sorta true). Every day Ah-nold fails in office is more ammo for us in '04. We just need to make sure the Dems USE the ammo we collect.
