CNN just said MANY of the Tankers with Gas sent to fill up
vehicles stranded on the interstates and roads DO NOT HAVE THE CORRECT NOZZLES to get the gas into the vehicles............

Seems to me, no matter how much planning cities have done in the past and are doing when time allows, they just can't get their citizens out of harms way and to safety. If these two events in the South, Katrina and Rita, don't wake America up to the fact that this government can't keep us safe or knows what the hell it's doing, we may as well just run right into the next event and just get it over with.

1. Incredible
My fear from Katrina was that people were going to be stranded on I-10 in traffic jams as the storms hit. Fortunately that was the least of the problems.

I'm hearing there's a 100 mile solid jam from Houston to Dallas right now and people aren't finding open gas stations or tankers.

They just interviewed a lady whose been on the road for 2 days and still hasn't made it out of town.

And the wingnuts have the balls to say..."they should have left when they had the chance". Where?

2. Yes, she said took her 2 days to make it one hour out of
Houston. Now, they are going to head out down the road with what gas they have left and hope someone will help them. I can't see where TX has done any better job of evacuation then the states hit by Katrina. Maybe W will bring in some gas on his visit there today? Don't suppose he could use AF 1 to haul some folks out......

4. Where Do You Go?
I heard 1,000,000 people have hit the roads. There sure aren't enough hotel/motel rooms. So where do you go? Into a strange town and start knocking on doors?

3. I think this is the first time many who hold government positions in
the Bush administration have to actually work and ya know, they aren't qualified for the position. That's why everyone is looking at them like they are retarded because they really have no clue what they are doing. When they got hired, they thought they were all that because they had a big salary and a big title.Well, today they learn a title means something. You don't get paid the big bucks for nothing.LOL:rofl:   / The underdogs are avenged!!

7. Hail the Peter Principle, exhibibited to its ultimate conclusion.
Defined: Peter Principle

The theory that employees within an organization will advance to their highest level of competence and then be promoted to and remain at a level at which they are incompetent.

Wonder how'd they'd do with a nuclear war . . .

8. I thought most gas stations were closed.......
you could be absolutly right, but I remember a news report last night that said something like only 2 gas stations were open in a long, long stretch of road.

10. No, many were sent to fill tanks of vehicles blocking traffic on
major highways and roads. They had the tankers off the interstate in regions, so those with gas could gather around these tankers and fill off road and then the plan was to send gas to folks stuck on the roads via some means, maybe 5 gallon containers, who the hell knows.

Now CNN says, Houston didn't expect soo much traffic on the highways........give me a f-ing break. You say get the hell out, and many people are going to leave. Was that not the point? Now, in retrospect, we have a duh? moment...........

9. Surely someone among the stranded is smart enough to know how
to use a garden hose to siphon the gas.

But of course who knows, the lost colony of Roanoke presumably starved to death waiting on a ship to return with supplies from England, while they were camped out in an area rich with wildlife, edible plants, and unlimited stocks of fish in Albemarle Sound.

I think Darwin's theory of natural selection would categorize the case of a species too stupid to act on its own behalf for self preservation as "extinct".

14. Or a funnel, even
There are hoses on those gas trucks, just not the right size to fit in the filler neck of a gas tank.

all those minivans and SUV's. 2006 ought to be pretty interesting. All that gas and nowhere to flow.

18. he couldn't....
but cheney could.

1. Means - Dick Cheney and the Secret Service: Dick Cheney was running a completely separate chain of Command & Control via the Secret Service, assuring the paralysis of Air Force response on 9/11. The Secret Service has the technology to see the same radar screens the FAA sees in real time. They also have the legal authority and technological capability to take supreme command in cases of national emergency. Dick Cheney was the acting Commander in Chief on 9/11. (Click here for a summary of these points)

2. Motive - Peak Oil: At some point between 2000 and 2007, world oil production reaches its peak; from that point on, every barrel of oil is going to be harder to find, more expensive to recover, and more valuable to those who recover and control it. Dick Cheney was well aware of the coming Peak Oil crisis at least as early as 1999, and 9/11 provided the pretext for the series of energy wars that Cheney stated, "will not end in our lifetime." (Click here for a summary of these points)

3. Opportunity - 9/11 War Games: The Air Force was running multiple war games on the morning of 9/11 simulating hijackings over the continental United States that included (at least) one "live-fly" exercise as well as simulations that placed "false blips" on FAA radar screens. These war games eerily mirrored the real events of 9/11 to the point of the Air Force running drills involving hijacked aircraft as the 9/11 plot actually unfolded. The war games & terror drills played a critical role in ensuring no Air Force fighter jocks - who had trained their entire lives for this moment - would be able to prevent the attacks from succeeding. These exercises were under Dick Cheney's management. (Click here for a summary of these points)

17. More incompetence will jeopardize the safety and well being
of these people.

Reporters are saying as of this moment that traffic is "easy" to get out of the area now.

conflicting reports to the extreme.

Here we go again. Report one thing, then it's polar opposite and confuse everyone as to the reality. The trademark of this administration.
