1. Not good.
Is Chavez crazy? Stopping the oil shipments will guarantee an invasion.

2. I don't think that is true..Chavez claims the US does have a plan....
called 'Operation Balboa' to invade Venezuela and if they proceed with the plan THEN oil shipments will be suspended.

3. correct...Here's a link to story
~snip~
Chavez has been attending the summit of world leaders at the United Nations in New York this week. On Thursday, he denounced the U.S.-led war in Iraq and told other leaders they should consider moving the U.N. headquarters out of the United States.

To prove U.S. intentions to invade Venezuela, Chavez offered to send "Nightline" host Ted Koppel maps and other documentation.

"What I can't tell you is how we got it, to protect the sources, how we got it through military intelligence," he said.

In the event of a U.S. invasion, Chavez said the United States can "just forget" about receiving any more oil from his country.

8. Chavez said last night he wouldn't cut off oil to US.
He said that CITGO, a 10 billion dollar company owned by venezuela with 8 refineries in the US, has every intention to continue to sell oil to the US. He said that Venezuela also intends to sell oil to everyone at market rates -- to South America, the Carribean, and to China. He said that what Venezuela doesn't want is to be in a subservient relationship to the US. They both deal with each other both standing, or both sitting, or both on their knees--in prayer-- but not with one standing and the other on its knees in servitude. He says the only time he has ever said that Venezuela would deny the US oil would be if the US invaded Venezuela. He said that if that happened the US would be embarking on a war with a 100 year resistance, and the oil would not flow to the US.
