2. Probably not

Sout Lebanon is a sort of proxy battleground for Israel and Syria
to poke at each other on. Probly demonstrating thier mutual displeasure w/ each other.

4. Lebanon pretty much is Syria.
Syria is to Lebanon as the US is to Iraq, except that most of the Lebanese population (the Muslims) support Syria because they hate the Christians.

Israel doesn't want to stop aggressing its neighbors. It's what happens when you have the world's only superpower playing favorites and supplying you with more nuclear weapons than Britain.

16. Is War in the entire middle
East region a distinct posibility now with the other nations joining to fight against Israel. What role then would the US play?

11. Yeah, he is such a great role model. Remember when we read
Edited on Mon Oct-06-03 11:59 AM by caledesi
that the attack on Iraq would cause total chaos in the ME? Hmmmph! Seems to be happening.

As I am typing this, a letter was being read on CNN about how f*cked up the ME is and it's all because of * and his pre-emptive policy.

edit: usual stuff

12. Bush is doing what
AIPAC and Israel are telling him to do. A total puppet whose refusal to even pretend to be a neutral arbiter is causing this.

Edited on Mon Oct-06-03 12:02 PM by Aidoneus
bombing Lebanon was Israel's national sport for years and years, and ended only recently.. well, apparently not ended.

14. doesn't seem too heavy, just a small unprovoked aggression
a border village in South Lebanon bombed, some shots fired across the border.. there may be more later, however.

There will probably be a reaction from the Lebanese side, and then Bush will scold them for the "aggression" and turn a blind eye as Israel drops more bombs. That's the usual formula from the 90s, anyway, I doubt it will be any different.

Israel is killing folks, and MSNBC is busy covering the recall. This myopic American news media is revolting.

19. When 19 Israeli Civilians Were Killed in Haifa
they also covered Ahnold ...

they are indeed myopic ...

when will the left stop levelling one-sided attacks against Israel and realize that both sides, and the failings of the U.S. government to broker a peace, are to blame ...

Sharon, Arafat and bush ... there's more than enough blame to go around ...

is it just possible the U.S. can justify its presence in the Middle East as long as the Israeli-Palestinian conflict continues ??
