"My Job is to Make Their Lives Hopeless as Possible so They'll Leave"
"You can't start a clinic here . That would give people hope.
My job is to make their lives as hopeless as possible so they will leave." -
New Orleans Police Dept. officer berating relief workers in the 9th Ward

"It's not so much that the government is not responding ,
they are obstructing the response. They are telling us we can't bring people
the basic necessities of life because that would give them hope. It is a
question of oppression vs. mutual aid." - Jesse, an organizer with MayDay DC
volunteering in the Common Ground Wellness Center, Algiers, NOLA

2. It is hypocritical of Bush WH to claim Corporations are not responsible
for "externalities" and then turn around and use them in practice of corporate governance.

REAL REPORTS OF KATRINA RELIEF: Eyewitness, politically charged,
on-the-ground truth telling from New Orleans
by Naomi Archer

The locally-led, mutually based community relief effort in Algiers is now
being called Common Ground Algiers. Currently, more than 40 volunteer
medics, doctors, cooks, communications technicians, community organizers and
concerned people are directly involved in the Common Ground collective
effort. Emergency services that have been created include a community
garbage pick-up program; mobile kitchens to provide free hot meals to anyone
in the area; a first aid clinic in a local mosque and a mobile first aid
station staffed by doctors, nurses and emergency medical technicians; and
bicycles for volunteers and residents to transport aid around the area; and
the development of a free school for children.

11. This has been the Bush Administration Response
to this whole disaster.

They have deliberately withheld and diverted aid during a national emergency.

These are crimes against humanity and yet our Congress seems to hardly even notice.

Misinformation and confusion is spread on purpose. Talk to most Americans and they still blame Mayor Nagin while BushCo's 4 more days of vacation is no big deal.

People seem to prefer to remain oblivious but we can not wait for the next disaster. The next time BushCo is going to be even more prepared. Why do you think Bush is asking for more power already? Next time will be the Iraqification of the US. All they have to do is turn off the gas taps and we'll all be killing each other.

12. This is what Congressional repukes are covering up
when they decided to shoot down the Dems' call for an independent commission to look into the (deliberately) slow response to the aftermath of Katrina. The repunks are afraid the evidence will point to a slam-dunk charge of crimes against humanity on the part of the BFEE.

14. It's not that.
Katrina gave the fascists an opening to force through their sick agenda of tax cuts and spending cuts on social programs, and they don't want anything or anybody standing in their way to put in their sick Third World utopia.

This is cultism, pure and simple, and completely anti-American.

15. "This is cultism pure and simple"
I was going over some articles today and took note of a particular comment that was made about Joe Allbaugh. The word used to describe him was "fraternal' and that is revealing. many don't take this Skull & Bones stuff seriously and in some ways it is farcical. The problem is that these corporate frat boys have immense power and vast networks. Skull & Bones is just a collegial and immature example of how these things originate and manifest, obscene and punky rituals included.

After awhile it really doesn't need to be a 'conspiracy theory' it just goes on auto-pilot. They are like-minded and the vermin gravitate to the same trough.

Think Lord of the Flies on crack.

Your comment was on the mark.

16. All one has to do
Edited on Sat Sep-17-05 03:12 PM by nvliberal
is look at the nonsense propagated by the right-wing think tanks like Heritage and Cato to know "conservatism" is a mindless cult of social Darwinist utopianism.

Which defined is this "libertarian" nonsense that the acquisition and the retaining of wealth regardless of how that wealth is obtained or who it hurts is the highest virtue and anything which prevents or controls that reckless pursuit is to be avoided.

It has nothing to do with the realities of human nature, and that's why it is so dangerous and doomed to fail.

17. "doomed to fail"
completely accurate in the larger sense. In the process extraordinary numbers of creatures non-human & human are taken down with this wrecking ball. How to at least mitigate the damages as it plays itself out?

your brief definition of the 'libertarian' claptrap was perfect. look forward to seeing more of your posts.
