Bush to Address the Nation Thursday Night!!
WTF!! I suppose this means all networks will carry this. What the hell does Bush spewing "talking points" and trying for make-up sex with the American people have to do with an important message that's a must to run free on TV?? They know that if they can get his "caring" mug out there enough, it's worth a few mindless fobs boosting his ratings by 2-3 points and then Wolfe Blitzer can dance on top of his desk as he announces that EVERYBODY LOVES GEORGE, DARLING!!! This is crap. Why didn't they stick the fool on national tv as the horror was happening so he could "'splian, please"?? Why don't we just set aside one night a week for Bush Propaganda Hour. It is criminal for the networks to allow this. It should be followed either by a live press conference with no pre-screened questions OR by an address by a representative of the evacuees.

6. I guess Bush assumes there aren't any survivors after his
piss-poor performance following Katrina.

2. He better be announcing his resignation and Cheney's, Condi's and Rummy's.
They vacationed and played while our fellow citizens drowned.

OUT NOW.

Peace.

4. I fear you may be right.
We have long thought he would do something BIG if he were ever this low in the polls.

11. Bush Fatigue TV
People are getting tired of this doofus. Most tolerated him when they thought he wasn't the callous, lying bastard many Americans see him to be. Now most of us don't care to see him nor hear what he has to say.

Ironically, his speeches have become collector's items in themselves. Each photo-op creates another treasure trove of slip-ups, faux-pas, mispronounciations, malprops and lies. Let the manchild keep pretending to care...people are seeing through it and the more they see how phony it is, the more iritated they're getting from it.

18. Kharma--I agree
I think they are reading this all wrong. It's best he keeps his mug off tv. It's kind of like the "cheating husband". You may have not known or vaguely guessed but then caught him with his pants down in the act. The flowers, the pleading, the 'wanting to talk things out', etc. becomes nauseating rather than soothing.

13. Or he'll announce 50,000 U.S. troops returning from Iraq?
I think he might be trying to deal with the demonstrations planned for Sept 24th.

20. Now that's interesting
DUers have been speculating that it will be about Iran. Thanks for clearing this up! I don't have the tv on. My guess is that he wants to milk his accepting responsibility for all he can get.

16. Rove informs Bush the seriousness of the Katrina situation...
His base support has even began to crumble, Iraq war isn't going well,
Gas prices have all americans angry, Cindy Sheeham has grown too much support, Rove/Plamegate, Fitzgerald possibly ready to indict next month.

BUSH hour of payback has already begun and too many things are going wrong for the man who calls himself a uniter and a war president...!
