I swear, the Democratic Party needs a fast reaction team
Seriously, they need a fast, on the ground team to move into any area and help out Dems who are in situations that pit them against the Busheviks.

Blanco is the perfect example. Her advisors have been making critical strategic errors with the handling of NO since day one, and they've allowed the Rovian bullshit to take hold in some areas.

The Republicans have this, why don't the Dems?

2. I sometimes think they have an anti-reaction team...
Okay something's happened, shut up and stick your heads' in the sand. I'll let you know when it's safe to come out.

4. True. A travelling anti-venom snake bite team.
Dean should put an emergency crew of smart minds right away.

I nominate David Sirota and Will Pitt.

5. I've given up on this....all they do it seems is go on and undercut
Dean. I swear to God, this party is incompetent. How can you convince people you're MORE competent than BUSHCO, when you can't respond strongly and consistently, with a strategy behind it. The strategy should be aimed at stripping Bush and the GOP of ANY CREDIBLITY at all when it comes to working for the American people.

The reality is, the Democrats are letting them screw the country. Bushco is perfectly competent at what they really want to do--padding their own pockets and those of their cronies. When it comes to the rest of the country, they don't give a sh*t. And the Dems apparently can't see this pattern at all...

7. They're afraid of sticking their necks out
They have their voting records to look up and if there's a chance the person in need of help may not be entirely blameless they're afraid of being seen next to him or her. LA politics have been notorious forever and its a blue state. Other dems don't seem to know how to handle that.

8. Put Hilary in charge
of rapid response. She is good at this - setting up a war room. If the Democrats don't get out front with this - we will have lost.

They are just letting bush reframe everything about Katrina. What's the friggin problem anyway?

11. You're right! With Lakoff as an adviser.
At least 4/5ths of us on DU could come up with better, faster responses than the "Democratic Leadership" - excepting Dean. What do they do, have focus group meetings before making statements?

I'm also amazed at Kerry, dithering for more than a week before finally going down there with supplies. Hasn't Al Gore, Our Rightful President, already made a couple of trips there, bringing back planeloads of survivors?
