I think Osama bin Laden is pulling a Ronald Reagan.
Forcing his enemy to spend so much on the military establishment that the civilian sector goes belly up.

That is my metaphor for the day. >_<

1. That's a good metaphor
The US empire is going the way of the Soviet Union. But, I think UBL is only a piece on a board that is controlled by the MNCs, particularly the multinational oilmen and bankers.

3. The death toll of Iraqis exceeds Americans
And when you take into account the fact that Iraq has only one tenth the population of the US, the toll is ten times as horrendous.

4. yes, that's true
I just meant that figuratively. I meant we are hurting ourselves with our own silly policies much more than 9/11 hurt us.

5. Correct.
A casual examination of Usama bin Laden's writings shows that he was indeed hoping to get the USA involved in a broader war in the Middle East and the Islamic parts of Southeast Asia.

6. bin laden has been dead since december 23, 2001. He's not doing much of
anything.

Unless someone found a way for a cave man to get dialysis solar-style, that is....

Having cleared that up, the bush regime is merely reaping what they've sown in spades.

8. Hey there!
I do believe that you are correct. As a matter of fact, I'm quite certain in his released tape before the elections, he stated this. He has stated it at some point, I know that much. His goal is to bankrupt the US.
