Need help with photos of N.O. police state

Especially such as the reports of police or whoever shooting over people's head and police or troops keeping people from leaving the Superdome or NO. If these reports are true, where are the photos?

for instance that incredible first hand account by the paramedics mentions news crews taking their photos and so there must have been some around to take photos of the cops shooting over people's heads, etc.

They have set up a checkpoint at the bottom of this bridge. It's the only way out. Anyone who walks up out of that city is turned around. You are not allowed to go to Gretna Louisiana. The government will not let you do it.

are shots of what they are talking about. It's strange to me that during these reports there are none of the usual shots included of the padlocked doors that Geraldo mentions or the people being kept from leaving by police or troops or whoever he says it was. I would think that Geraldo would take the camera and get some background footage of these things.

and/or afraid to go into the Superdome and the convention center. Poor people who have left everything in their homes to escape a flood don't carry digital cameras or camcorders.

Will have to. I mean I have checked everywhere -- whatreallyhappened, prisonplanet, indymedia, democracynow, etc. I would have expected some blurry or distant or amateur shots, even with all the logistical problems involved. Just one good shot would be something for the Bush impeachment gallery.

if you are not willing to take new orleans mayor ray nagin's word that ppl were not allowed to walk into gretna after he gave them permission to leave the dome

if you are not willing to take the gretna sheriff's word that he did not allow ppl to walk into gretna & ordered the police to turn them back

if you are not willing to take the word of witnesses in the crowd who started walking & were turned back from crossing the bridge

why the hell are you going to believe a photo

no one there denies this story, the sheriff of gretna admits the story is true, his defense is that there was no food, water, or electricity in gretna, & this is why he closed the bridge

but you need a photo :shrug:

why don't you make yr own, since the next point of skepticism anyway will be to claim any photos are fake

The Geraldo and other footage was esp. compelling. But it's weird there is not even one shot of it, and this world runs on images.

However, on Democracynow.org there is an article about reporters having their cameras taken away-- so it may be the images are being controlled. But in this day and age of home videocams and cellphone cams, there must be some images out there. Where?
