New Orleans drowns, fundies rejoice
They are gleeful that God detroyed the "sinful" New Orleans:

<http://www.repentamerica.com/pr_hurricanekatrina.html>"Although the loss of lives is deeply saddening, this act of God destroyed a wicked city," stated Repent America director Michael Marcavage. "From 'Girls Gone Wild' to 'Southern Decadence,' New Orleans was a city that had its doors wide open to the public celebration of sin. From the devastation may a city full of righteousness emerge," he continued.

<http://www.godhatesfags.com/featured/20050831_thank-god-for-katrina.html> "Thank God for Katrina"

<http://www.worldnetdaily.com/news/article.asp?ARTICLE_ID=46090> "A national talk-radio host believes the severity of Hurricane Katrina is clear evidence that civilization is now in the 'End Times' described in the Bible. "

http://www.post-gazette.com/pg/05247/565364.stm"In my belief, God judged New Orleans for the sin of shedding innocent blood through abortion," said Lefemine, who e-mailed the flesh-toned weather map to fellow activists across the country and put a stark message on the answering machine of his organization, Columbia Christians for Life.

http://www.michnews.com/artman/publish/printer_9323.shtml The question now remains: Where else will the Lord strike in order to bring the world community to its senses before His judgment throne? Time will tell.

2. if that's what your "god" is about
fuck him. And even if he appeared in a pillar of fire and spoke with all kinds of cool sound effects and shit, FUCK HIM. Who needs a petty vengeful tyrant like that? We already have one in the white house, we sure don't need an immortal one running around flinging thunderbolts and hurricanes.

Why is it these people think that they are on the side of "good"?

They certainly don't sound like real christians to me.

3. And that's after a disaster in the south
Imagine how wet these people would get if there were ever a huge earthquake in San Francisco or Los Angeles.

4. Follow...The God That Failed....

Pride you took
Pride you feel
Pride that you felt when you’d kneel

Not the word
Not the love
Not what you thought from above

It feeds
It grows
It clouds all that you will know
Deceit
Deceive
Decide just what you believe

I see faith in your eyes
Never your hear the discouraging lies
I hear faith in your cries
Broken is the promise, betrayal
The healing hand held back by the deepened nail

Follow the God that failed

Find your peace
Find your say
Find the smooth road in your way

Trust you gave
A child to save
Left you cold and him in grave

It feeds
It grows
It clouds all that you will know
Deceit
Deceive
Decide just what you believe

I see faith in your eyes
Never you hear the discouraging lies
I hear faith in your cries
Broken is the promise, betrayal
The healing hand held back by the deepened nail

Follow the God that failed

I see faith in your eyes
Broken is the promise, betrayal
The healing hand held back by the deepened nail

Follow the God that failed

Pride you took
Pride you feel
Pride that you felt when you’d kneel

Trust you gave
A child to save
Left you cold and him in grave

I see faith in your eyes
Never you hear the discouraging lies
I hear faith in your cries
Broken is the promise, betrayal
The healing hand held back by deepened nail

Follow the God that failed

5. How does this explain the hurricanes that hit Virginia Beach?
Y'know, home of Pat Robertson and "The 700 Club"?

8. you'd be surprised!

Virginia's 2000 abortion rate was 18 / 1,000 women 15-44.

Louisiana's was only 11.

Fundie preachers should maybe start being more careful about where they located.

Ya woulda thought Mississippi (6) woulda been safe ...

Their gods don't have very good aim, maybe.

6. but the fun part -- abortion rates
per 1,000 women aged 15-44 in 2000:

Alabama: 14
Mississippi: 6
Louisiana: 11

South Carolina (where Lefemine is): 9

Shouldn't South Carolina have got wiped out before Mississippi?
Shouldn't Alabama have got hit a little harder than it did?

Texas (16) and Florida (27!), and a few other red / bible-belt states, are really for the high jump, it seems, alongside some of their bluer / heathener fellows.

Accounting for the wrath of the gods is such an inexact science.

7. Hmmm... I didn't know Buloxi and Gulfport were "sin cities," too.
Because, you know, fundies, both those cities were leveled, too.

You're argument, forgive the pun, doesn't hold water.
