NOLA impact on 9/24 protest in DC?
Edited on Thu Sep-08-05 10:08 AM by garybeck
What do you think? Will less people go to the protest? Is there less reason to protest the war now? More? Will protesters be depicted as uncaring about NOLA? Is this bad timing?

1. It needs to morph into something else
Considering the timing, it really needs to become a 'remove Bush from office' march ... because I think most who want us out of Iraq also want Bush out of the White House.

If they changed the reason for the protest, I bet there would be MORE people there.

3. I think I agree.. the answer is
to funnel frustration about the NOLA repsonse into the protest, and combine the two issues. we all know they are related anyway.

2. I'm still going Gary. We need change in leadership and we need to let the
world know that we are willing to stand up to the tyrant and his enablers. What about you? any changes in plans?

4. Can't we just make the entire thing about Impeachment for all issues?
Iraq, NOLA impact, destroying the environment and economy, failure to protect America- it all boils down to the same thing- he needs to be removed from office and tried for war crimes and murder.

Maybe we can re-frame this to include all of these issues, with the overriding issue being the collective desire to get them out of office.

The Impeach Bush folks will be there as far as I know anyway.

Let me know what you think and what I can do to help!

5. It will have no effect on the 25th
...Because the protest is on 9/24.

7. IMPEACH-A-PALOOZA!!!
This needs to turn into an anti-Bush rally. We need to encourgage people to encourage their congressional reps to vote in impeachment or they'll et voted out!

8. I'm with you
it's too confining to be just about the war. that scenario also invites criticism for protesting during a time of tragedy. if it's opened and widened to the greater problem of horrible leadership on all fronts, that potential problem disappears.
