Does anyone remember when we last heard anything about Iraq?
I would think that Shrub and his cronies would be thanking God above for the diversion that hurricane Katrina has given them. Its occurrence is quite fortuitous for them. And yet they are managing to screw up (again) this golden opportunity to do something positive for this country.

I was just thinking about this this evening, after the 4 guests staying with us from New Orleans (having escaped with their lives and nothing else after Katrina), went to bed tonight. Wondering if anyone else thought about this?

now more than ever people are questioning if we really need all the personnel and equip, not to mention $$ over there. and wondering if the Iraq operation is as screwed up as the Homeland operation.

3. Katrina is proof of the absolutely bankrupt policies and agend of
this administration and their Republican rubberstampers in Congress. They've spent $300BB+ fighting a war of delusion, killing 1900 soldiers and 10's of thousands of Iraqi's...to establish an Islamic State and have the price of oil double? And to have this fantasy meant shorting our infrastructure. New Orleans paid the price.

Really, does anyone think a terrorist attack could do moire damage to us than hurricane Katrina and our federal government's incompetence combined? It's been a big joke, America was played for suckers on 11/4/2000.

2. Did I see
1898 soldiers have been killed as of yesterday? We'll probably just sail past the 1900 mark without anybody paying much attention.

4. The reality is that
Katrina cost 5+x the american life and about the same monetary damage in a week as Iraq has since inception.

Katrina is bigger news at least for now.

5. No way. Have one huge disaster, which is shrubco's fault, replaced by
another one, even worse for America, which they did a terrible job with also? Not a chance.

Not only that, there is significant linkage between the two, especially the fact that levee funding was cut way back because of Iraq, and the obvious fact that much of the National Guard resources, which are intended for situations JUST LIKE IN NOLA and NOT for fighting foreign wars, is over in Iraq right now.
