"My Most Important Job" by george w bush (graphics-heavy)
The security of the United States of America is my most important job. And I take it seriously, and I will follow through. (Applause.)
http://www.whitehouse.gov/news/releases/2002/01/20020131-5.html

I'll probably say it three more times. See, in my line of work you got to keep repeating things over and over and over again for the truth to sink in, to kind of catapult the propaganda. (Applause.)
http://www.whitehouse.gov/news/releases/2005/05/20050524-3.html

...my job is to protect the American people. It's my most important job, most important assignment I have.

...the security of this country is my most important job.

My most important job is to protect innocent Americans, and this is exactly what I'm going to do.
http://www.yale.edu/lawweb/avalon/sept_11/president_137.htm

I want the troops here to know that I take my job as the Commander-in-Chief very seriously; that my most important job is to protect America and to protect our homeland. I do whatever it takes...
http://www.whitehouse.gov/news/releases/2002/05/20020517-1.html

...our most important job is to protect innocent life here in our country.
http://www.whitehouse.gov/news/releases/2002/03/20020312-19.html

...my most important job and the most important job of your government is to protect the American people, and we will do so with all our vigor and all our might.
http://www.whitehouse.gov/news/releases/2002/02/20020206-8.html

My biggest job and most important job is to protect the security of the American people, and I am going to do that.
http://www.whitehouse.gov/news/releases/2002/12/20021231-1.html

The Department of Homeland Security will unite essential agencies that must work more closely together, among them the Coast Guard and the Border Patrol, the Customs Service, Immigration officials, the Transportation Security Administration, and the Federal Emergency Management Agency. Employees of this new agency will come to work every morning knowing that their most important job is to protect their fellow citizens.
http://www.whitehouse.gov/news/releases/2002/06/20020608-1.html

The President's most important job is to protect and defend the American people.
http://www.whitehouse.gov/news/releases/2002/06/20020606.html

Congress can deal more effectively with how to do the most important job any elected official has, which is to protect innocent life.
http://www.whitehouse.gov/news/releases/2002/06/20020612-3.html

We're doing everything we can to secure the homeland. My most important job is to protect the American people.
http://www.whitehouse.gov/news/releases/2002/03/20020308-5.html

?

Our most important job is to protect the homeland. Our most important job is to do everything in our power to make sure that you're safe...
http://www.whitehouse.gov/news/releases/2002/09/20020916-3.html

My most important job is to protect innocent Americans.
http://www.whitehouse.gov/news/releases/2002/05/20020513-7.html

My most important job is the security and safety of the American people.
http://www.whitehouse.gov/news/releases/2002/01/20020105-3.html

We've also got to make sure that we are able to continue to do the most important job we have, and that's to protect the homeland.
http://www.whitehouse.gov/news/releases/2002/10/20021028-5.html

But my most important job is to protect America. That's what's on my mind a lot, is how best to secure this homeland.
http://www.whitehouse.gov/news/releases/2002/10/20021008-1.html

...my most important job is to make America a safer place. I'm reminded of that every time I come and give a speech and see the little ones here.

My most important job is to protect the homeland, is to protect innocent people.
http://www.whitehouse.gov/news/releases/2002/08/20020829-8.html

My most important job my most important job is to protect innocent life here in the country.
http://www.whitehouse.gov/news/releases/2002/10/20021005-5.html

And we will do everything we can to protect our homeland. It is, by far, the most important job I have. (Applause.)
http://www.whitehouse.gov/news/releases/2002/07/20020725-5.html

Because protecting innocent life is my most important job and the most important job of government at any level.
http://www.whitehouse.gov/news/releases/2002/07/20020702-2.html

Our most important job is to protect America.
http://www.whitehouse.gov/news/releases/2002/05/20020530-1.html

My most important job is to protect the American people.
http://www.whitehouse.gov/news/releases/2002/05/20020514-14.html

Homeland security: we've doubled the amount of money available for homeland security because my most important job is to protect our homeland. I need to be able to say to the American people that you can go about your lives because we're doing everything we can to protect you, and we are.
http://www.whitehouse.gov/news/releases/2002/04/20020416-8.html

My most important job is to protect innocent Americans.
http://www.whitehouse.gov/news/releases/2002/04/20020415-10.html

My most important job is to protect innocent Americans.
http://www.whitehouse.gov/news/releases/2002/02/20020227-6.html

My most important job is to make sure that this nation is secure and safe.
http://www.whitehouse.gov/news/releases/2002/01/20020131-7.html

My most important job is the security of America; is the security of Americans.
http://www.whitehouse.gov/news/releases/2002/01/20020130-12.html

First sentence from The Department of Homeland Security:
The President’s most important job is to protect and defend the American people.
http://www.whitehouse.gov/deptofhomeland/sect1.html
http://www.whitehouse.gov/deptofhomeland/book.pdf

President Bush knows his most important job is to protect this nation.
--Judge Alberto Gonzales
http://www.whitehouse.gov/news/releases/2004/06/20040622-14.html

See, my most important job is to protect the country. That's my most solemn duty, to make sure as best as we possibly can that the harm done to our citizens doesn't happen again.
http://www.whitehouse.gov/news/releases/2004/04/20040426-6.html

And now our most important job is to protect you.
http://www.whitehouse.gov/news/releases/2002/11/20021101-10.html

There are real threats that we face, and therefore, my most important job is to do everything we can to protect the homeland. A lot of people are working hard to do just that; they really are.
http://www.whitehouse.gov/news/releases/2002/10/20021017-2.html

And before I leave, I want to tell you we've got some tasks at hand at the federal level, too, that we're going to meet. There's no bigger task than protecting the homeland of our country. That's my most important job. I spend a lot of time thinking about it. Not only do I spend time thinking about it, I act on it.
http://www.whitehouse.gov/news/releases/2002/08/20020823-1.html

I will use every asset at our disposal to do our most important job, which is to protect the American people. (Applause.)
http://www.whitehouse.gov/news/releases/2004/05/20040518-1.html

My most important job is to make America a safer place.
http://www.whitehouse.gov/news/releases/2004/05/20040504-3.html

The most important job of my administration is to protect the American people...
http://www.whitehouse.gov/news/releases/2004/01/20040126-3.html

...since my most important job is to protect the security of the American people, that's precisely what we'll do.
http://www.whitehouse.gov/news/releases/2003/03/20030306-8.html

But I think we can do a better job on your behalf. And that's why I went to the United States Congress and asked them to join me in the creation of a new department of homeland security, so we can better coordinate all the activities that are taking place at the federal level; so we can change culture, if need be, so that people know that the number one priority is your protection; so there's no doubt in anybody's mind who are working on your behalf that this is the most important job we have.
http://www.whitehouse.gov/news/releases/2002/11/20021103-1.html

My most important job is to protect American life, to protect innocent life.
http://www.whitehouse.gov/news/releases/2002/10/20021022-3.html

And so, therefore, my most important job is to protect the American people from further harm, is to guard our homeland. You need to know a lot of good folks are working hard to just that.
http://www.whitehouse.gov/news/releases/2002/09/20020919-14.html

...our most important job as a government is to protect the American people, is to do everything in our power to keep America safe...
http://www.whitehouse.gov/news/releases/2002/09/20020905-5.html

I'm also optimistic about being able to do my most important job, which is to protect the homeland.
http://www.whitehouse.gov/news/releases/2002/09/20020905-4.html

And so my biggest job, my most important job as your President is to secure our homeland; is to do everything we can, everything in our power, to make sure that you're safe, and your families are safe.
http://www.whitehouse.gov/news/releases/2002/08/20020829-7.html

My most important job now is to defend innocent life in America.
http://www.whitehouse.gov/news/releases/2002/08/20020829-1.html

So I look forward to having him in the United States Congress, and I look forward to working with him, to help us do our most important job, which is to secure our homeland, which is to do everything we can (applause) which is to do everything we can to protect the American people.
http://www.whitehouse.gov/news/releases/2002/06/20020611-13.html

Now, you need to also know that we're doing everything we can to protect the American people. My most important job is the security of the American people. I learn that every day when I walk into the grand Oval Office.
http://www.whitehouse.gov/news/releases/2002/05/20020508-3.html

So every day I'm reminded that my biggest task and most important job is to protect the homeland.
http://www.whitehouse.gov/news/releases/2002/04/20020429-4.html

It's the most important job, is to be able to assure Americans we're doing everything we can to keep you safe.
http://www.whitehouse.gov/news/releases/2002/03/20020327-10.html

I want to thank you for giving me the chance to come by. Elaine is right, I do worry about the security of the American people; I worry about the security of those who retire. And I want you to know every day I'm worried about the homeland security, too. Every day we wake up -- I wake up and go into the beautiful Oval Office and read about threats to the United States. And it reminds me that the security of this country is my most important job.
http://www.whitehouse.gov/news/releases/2002/02/20020228-3.html

Every morning, I'm reminded that my most important job is to make our country secure; is to protect the homeland of the United States of America. And that's what I want to talk to you all about today -- how best to protect the homeland.
http://www.whitehouse.gov/news/releases/2002/02/20020205-4.html

My most important job as the President is to protect America. (Applause.) Is to make sure that we've got a homeland defense that's well-coordinated and active.
http://www.whitehouse.gov/news/releases/2002/01/20020131-2.html

My most important job is to protect innocent Americans, and this is exactly what I'm going to do.

Listen, thank you all very much.

5. Bravo for this photo essay!
Nothing brings it home faster or with more emphasis than to see the empty words next to these heart-wrenching photographs.

The liar. The blank-damn effing liar.

7. Did anyone see Oprah's show yesterday from N.O?
This may sound strange, but they showed the foot of a dead person jutting out of a blanket. The person looked to be sitting in a wheel chair. What stood out to me in this picture is the foot covering on this woman. I looks like the same foot covering of the dead person on Oprah's show. Anyone else seeing what I'm seeing?

Good job Tuvor.
