How can the rich people continue to take their tax breaks?
How can the Home Shopping Club continue to smile and sell fashions, jewelry, etc. How can the oil companies continue to rake in record profits? Our world is going to hell! I have heard rumors of a depression. WHERE ARE THE DEMOCRATS, or have I missed something??????????

8. Do you feel guilty about not paying more taxes? Would have it prevented
any of the problems that America is facing from happening? The Republicans currently don't seem to understand fiscal responsibility. Blaming the people who got the tax breaks is not fair nor is it justified.

Could you also clarify exactly what you think is the “hell” so I can actually comment on what you mean.

11. You're right; I was too terse
I meant that in the same spirit as W telling his Yale prof the poor are poor because they deserve to be. The corollary is the rich deserve to be rich, and goddamned if they "owe" anything to anyone, especially those lazy welfare moms.

And people ask me why I'm a socialist.

12. Doesn't Mankiw teach at Harvard.
Regardless American attitude towards wealth and wealth generation are going to be a big problem in the next few years. Both conservatives and liberals don't seem to understand the concepts for altogether different reasons.
