2. When someone doesn't say he's innocent, but only says he isn't

aware that he's being investigated, it sounds like an admission of guilt to me. He couldn't figure out a way to deny the charges and not lie.

Freepers and dittoheads always claim Clinton lied when he said "I did not have sexual relations with that woman, Miss Lewinsky." I knew when he said it that it was technically correct but that he had chosen his words carefully. He didn't say there was no sexual contact or activity, he denied sexual relations only, meaning no intercourse. I was surprised that reporters didn't ask him what he meant by that because I certainly would have if I'd been a White House reporter. Maybe they thought the whole thing was stupid and were ready to let it die.

Anyway, Rush just couldn't come up with a good line. I'd have suggested: "I have never swallowed a single Oxycontin pill -- not one! " ("I crushed them up and snorted them like everyone else.")
