I swore up and down that, on the day he died, no matter where I was, I would drop whatever I was doing and throw a party, and throw a party every year thereafter on the anniversary of his death. I personally am on the fence about this, as I think most should be. Yes, he was a bigoted, nasty old man, but does that mean we should spit on his grave? I don't think so, but maybe I'm wrong. I think the farthest I'd go is saying "good riddance."

Although, I never quite understood why people are so much more respected when they die, or why when someone dies, all of a sudden everyone is supposed to never again speak a bad word about them.

Surely if Clinton died (God forbid), the Freepers would be saying things much worse than what the OP did. That being said, I like to think we at DU are better people than the Freeptards.
