Cheney news
accoriding to the White House itself, the last time our VP was seen in public was
August 18.

The news on his "trip" to Canada was removed from their website.

http://www.whitehouse.gov/vicepresident/

We have the huge disaster in the US.
Made worse by bungling of political hacks in positions of power and importance, starting with president.
And the second most powerful person in the country is MIA? Damn, he can't be MIA, he never served in the military.

1. I just wrote CNN asking if they could call him for comment
I still think we should file a missing persons report.

He hasn't even released a statement! I think there's something wrong. Even Cheney isn't a big enough ass to completely ignore this crisis. Even if he was, his staff wouldn't allow him to be silent if he had the capability to at least prepare a fucking statement.

5. Bush and Condi don't want him in the limelight
Whatever we think about Cheney, he certainly is more articulate than Bush and if he will appear in public and talk, Bush's moronity and emptiness will be just that more noticeable.

So he is being told to lie low and keep quiet.

Don't you think this makes sense?

7. I can see your point. But he should release a statement if he can
Edited on Sat Sep-03-05 12:41 PM by GloriaSmith
Besides, if Congress came back, shouldn't the VP come back to DC as well?

2. I thought I saw a news blurb the other day on DU
saying he was at a fund raiser. Not a fund raiser for NO, of course.

6. My guess too.
We know he and The Shrubbery are mentally ill, but yeah, a physical illness is my guess too.

9. Cheney always has long long periods of invisibility.
And just as I start to think he finally bit the big one and it's being covered up, he rears his ugly head again.

10. Do you think
that maybe he was down in the area over last weekend, making a "pre-hurricane" recovery deal with his buddies at Halliburton, and couldn't get out in time?

14. It's just really strange that not one person on any news program
on any channel has mentioned Cheney's absence, since he is supposedly in charge of this kind of thing. I think they all know why he's indisposed and just are being quiet about it. If it comes out that he's actually dead, then Bush is going to have some "splainin" to do for keeping such a thing quiet. What's he gonna say "I didn't want to scare the children"?

15. My email to Cheney's office yesterday was bounced back to me...
Cheney's disappearance is really starting to bother me. I find it extremely odd that we have seen or heard NOTHING from him at all this week. We pay the salaries of these people and I am outraged that the 2nd in command is AWOL during the largest natural disaster in this country's history. If Cheney is ill or otherwise indisposed (and its looking more and more like that is the case)the American public has the right to know what is going on.

We really need to demand to know what is up with Cheney. Is he on vacation or sick or what?
I sent an email to his office yesterday [email protected] complaining about the chaos in NO but it was immediately bounced back to me:

----- The following addresses had permanent fatal errors -----
"|/usr/bin/vacation -a vp vice.president vice-president vicepresident
-r 1 -U -f /local/home/vacation/vice_president.db -m
/local/home/vacation/vice_president.msg vice_president"
(reason: Command line usage error)
(expanded from: vice_president)
