the Convention Center. He's been reporting from the Sudan, Ethopia, and South Africa, and Nigeria.

Nick Roberts Int'l reporter Baghdad and Afghanistan
I forget the ball headed guy he reported from Baghdad and the Gaza Strip.

2. They said Barbara Starr was embedded
while in NO. I guess it is unofficially a battle zone and Bush & Pickles hung out in the Green Zones.

6. That just struck me as weird
and it still does. Maybe the usual correspondents are experiencing flashbacks to their coverage of the D.C. snipers and are having PTSD.

8. I noticed this all too Barbara Starr is the Pentagon Reporter
and with Nic Robertson there via phone with the wiggly images , all he needed to say was car bomb and I was right there with him --over all I think CNN is doing a very good job here. There have been some places --but over all they have the best stuff.

with this story I am stuck with them--this is the bombshell---there are other similar ones, in the wasington post and NYT, but this has good stuff.

10. I've even been listening to Cafferty
I usually mute him but these past couple of days he's surprised me - more than once. He just sounds fed up.

Sorry for going off topic slightly.

rotating fresh personal to maintain the level of reporting isn't the worst idea in the world.

11. I think war corespondents naturally are drawn to those conditions
And I think some domestic corespondents would rather not be in the middle of the muck.

Honestly.

12. There's no food, why would Candy Crawley go there?
Besides, they are reporting what is going on. Candy is too much of a Bush apologist. I will never forget how happy she got when she heard Gore was going to concede. She was shocked (IMHO) when he withdrew it. Then got happy again when Faux News/Ellis called it for Bush.

16. I noticed that too. It just makes sense. People with civil distress
or lawless situations or humanitarian crisis situations have the right "spider senses" to stay out of trouble. Plus they can more easily compare and contrast.

17. I'd rather have Chrstiane Amanpour or the like than a perfumed dandy
Like say, Wolf Blitzer, for instance. War correspondents at least have experience with getting stories out of dangerous areas, whereas our press corps is mostly experienced in reporting verdicts from celebrity trials.
