Shoot to kill, troops told - Sydney Morning Herald
Edited on Thu Sep-01-05 09:48 PM by NNN0LHI
http://www.smh.com.au/news/world/shoot-to-kill-troops-told/2005/09/02/1125302714538.html

As thousands wait to be rescued or receive aid, authorities have issued a "shoot to kill" order in a bid to stem the mounting lawlessness in the hurricane-ravaged city of New Orleans.

Louisiana Governor Kathleen Blanco said a detachment of 300 National Guard troops, who have served in Iraq, had been authorised to shoot to kill "hoodlums" in the hurricane-ravaged city of New Orleans.

"Three hundred of the Arkansas National Guard have landed in the city of New Orleans," Blanco said.

"These troops are fresh back from Iraq, well-trained, experienced, battle-tested and under my orders to restore order in the streets," Blanco said.

"They have M-16s and they are locked and loaded.

"These troops know how to shoot and kill and they are more than willing to do so if necessary and I expect they will," said Blanco.

4. I don't think she's referring to starving countrymen.
She is probably referring to armed criminals that are shooting at hospitals and raping women.

10. No, actually Mayor Richard J. Daley of Chicago said it first
during the riots that enveloped the West Side after Dr. King's death in 1968.

BTW, Richard J. Daley was the father of the present Mayor of Chicago, Richard M. Daley.

Politics in Chicago hasn't really progressed at all.

8. Is this not an act of war against our own country
I think I'm going to get a gun tomorrow. I'm anti-gun and a pacifist, but I feel like I might need to defend myself very soon.

12. Wonder if we will find out that someone was shot for looting when they
were carrying something under a blanket and it turns out to be a baby or a child that they were just trying to keep out of harms way?

13. We'll never get news like that
There will be no embedded reporters as they sweep the city under orders to kill poor, black Americans.

16. So what do you suggest we do instead?
Let me remind you that the military has been used for civil unrest before, especially the national guard. Personally, I don't care if they roll marines in. The situation is that bad.

17. They declared Martial Law
I believe that pretty much gives the military Carte Blanche. Still, this is unbelievable.

20. THIS was the plan all along! De facto martial law.
Now you know why the Bush Crime Family did everything in its power to make sure the situation became untenable...

They needed an excuse!

Get used to it, America. What's about to happen in New Orleans will be repeated anywhere the people rise up against Power.

Don't worry, with Al Qaeda ready to roll on his command, there will be alot of excuses to use shoot to kill orders on his own citizens.

Useless eaters, after all.
