1) The roads out of the area they are in are flooded. They're in one of the few parts of NoLA that is above sea level. They have nowhere they can walk to without passing through toxic waste infected waters.

2) Why are they just sitting there? They were told to go there. They were told to go to the superdome, and to the convention center, so they went. They were told that they would be evacuated, and given water, they weren't. They're doing what they're told hoping that someone will help them.

3) To the people calling them lazy...you try and do ANYTHING when you haven't had a bite to eat or a drop to drink in over a day in that heat. People are dying. They have no access to water, and no way to get to clean water without the help of high water vehicles or an airlift.

Man they are just miserable people those freepers. They have not only no compassion, but routinely show their ignorance even of brand new events. There are people still dying and they have the gall to call someone who trecked to the convention center because the government told them that they would help them there who haven't had water in days....they have the gall to call them lazy. Freaking idiots.
