Contact: Capt. Hiram Lewis, 304-692-1236; William Greene, President of RightMarch.com, 877-266-6596

CRAWFORD, Texas, August 29 /Christian Wire Service/ -- Hiram Lewis IV, currently a Captain and JAG officer in the West Virginia Army National Guard and a GOP candidate for the U.S. Senate from West Virginia, has announced the new "Meet With Hiram" campaign targeting anti-Bush and anti-war activist Cindy Sheehan.

"Together with the conservative activist organization RightMarch.com, I will be traveling to Crawford, Texas, to demand a meeting with Cindy Sheehan," said Lewis. "If she refuses to meet with me there, I will follow her on her bus tour and continue to demand a meeting until she agrees to talk with me face-to-face."

Pledging to "dog her steps" until she meets with him, Lewis stated, "My mission is to persuade Cindy Sheehan to meet with an Iraq War Veteran such as myself and answer my questions about why she is encouraging the terrorists, endangering our men and women in uniform, and lowering troop morale."What's more, he said, "I've been calling on Cindy Sheehan to meet with me for a few weeks now. If she leaves town just as I'm getting there, everyone will know why."

Capt. Hiram Lewis, a decorated veteran of the War in Iraq, will travel to Crawford, Texas, Aug. 31-Sept. 2 seeking a meeting with Cindy Sheehan, an anti-war protester he says is "determined to snatch defeat from the jaws of victory." Capt. Lewis has three objectives: First, he wants to offer heart-felt condolences for the loss of her son, Army Spc. Casey Sheehan, who died as a hero in Baghdad on April 4, 2004. Second, Capt. Lewis wants to make sure Mrs. Sheehan supports what her son wanted to do -- see the job through in Iraq. Finally, Capt. Lewis wants to rally support to our continued success in Operation Iraqi Freedom while helping protesters understand how their efforts lower morale and endanger our troops' lives.

He's like a croaking frog, it's just all for show. I hope she verbally eviscerates him.

5. He doesn't really want to meet with her,
he only wants to steal the MSM's attention. I'm sorry, he won't have to steal that it will be given to him freely.

23. This line makes it obvious that he doesn't want to meet with her:
"What's more, he said, "I've been calling on Cindy Sheehan to meet with me for a few weeks now. If she leaves town just as I'm getting there, everyone will know why."

So, I figure he deliberately shows up the day she leaves and claims victory, since she left. He will say it was to avoid him

7. Shit, there hasn't been a big bad reichwingnut yet she's refused to meet
Is this guy for real?

Better yet, has this guy even read 1/1000th of what's out there on Cindy instead of the hyperbolic bullshit spewed by the Reichwing, which he obviously follows.

8. Speaking of Camp Cropper....
Edited on Mon Aug-29-05 04:22 PM by quiet.american
So. Lewis thinks it's a good thing to put Camp Cropper on his resume?

http://www.guardian.co.uk/Iraq/Story/0,2763,1208078,00.html

While Washington has tried to portray the scandal as an isolated incident, The Observer has also heard of complaints that torture was carried out at other US facilities including Camp Cropper, a holding area for detainees close to Baghdad's airport.

The Korean vets, The Nam vets, Iraq War I vets, and the new Iraq vets that are pissed about the fact that they have been used to help install an Islamic Theocracy in Iraq.

17. Now how does this walking rectal abcess plan to show Cindy
how her actions encourage the "terra-ists" and harm the troops? If I were Cindy, I'd demand solid statistical evidence and if he just spews anecdotal bullshit, kick him right smack in his miniature jewels.

Correlation is NOT Causation!

PS- This JAG-off's "decorations" probably consist of a National Defense medal (hell, I have one of those, you get it just for being in during wartime) and whatever gedunk medal they are handing out for being over there.

Just my 2 cents. Carry on smartly.

20. So demanding answers from our elected officials ...
now qualifies as "encouraging the terrorists" - welcome to Amerika! :eyes:

Capt. Lewis -

You are obviously unaware of what a "democracy" is - it's a government of the people, by the people, for the people and that means we the people, or in this case a single person, has the RIGHT to DEMAND ANSWERS from OUR government if we are not happy with the way the country is being run. Doing so does not encourage terrorism, endanger men and women in uniform or lower troop morale. In fact, freely exercising our CONSTITUTIONAL RIGHTS shows the terrorists that we will not give up our way of life, despite their threats and if you are truly worried about our men and women in uniform, perhaps you can contact your representatives in Washington and demand that our troops be given the equipment they need to survive. You may also want to ask them when the Commander in Chief will come up with a REAL war plan.

You have every right to disagree with Mrs. Sheehan, but you don't have the right to "dog" her. Unlike Bush, she is not an elected official and does not have to answer to anyone. Harassing the grieving mother of a dead soldier does NOT make you a patriot - it makes you a slime ball.

21. I decided to ask him some questions in the spirit of those he asked Cindy
"I see you have some questions for Cindy. That's all well and good, I am a firm believer in free speech, no matter how biased and condescending your questions may be. Therefore, in the spirit of free speech, and in keeping with the type of questions you have for Cindy, I would like to ask you a few questions;

Why are you such a pathetic douchebag? Were you always an asshole or if it just happen the day you became a sycophantic Bushbot loser? How does it make you feel to worship a stupid alcoholic chickenshit coward who never served and who sends people to war on a whim? When you pray, do you pray to God, Jesus, or George W Bush? Also, does it make you feel like a big man to pick on women?

Thanks for your time."

Hello, mister stalker? hello?

-most stalkers are scary 'cause you can't get rid of 'em. It's unusual to run into a stalker you can't find.

25. Let me get this straight....
This guy, who is running for the US Senate, wants to publicly confront a grieving mother of a fallen soldier and claim that she is encouraging the terrorists for demanding answers from the President? Is he for real?

Wow. I hope she meets with him. She probably will since she has nothing to run from, nothing to hide. And as a bonus, starting your campaign by yelling at grieving moms is a great way to lose a race.

26. I just got home and all I can say is, WHAT AN IDIOT!
Capt. Hiram might need to check in, he just might miss the bus and have to follow Cindy and others to Houston. Guess he hasn't been paying much attention.

We're not snatching defeat from the jaws of victory, we are trying to save them from lots of pain, grief and lingering death. We are not lower their morale and we are not endangering their lives.

I have so much to share with you all, I just got home and I'm beat. I'm going to take a little break and just chill for a little while.

We're not endangering our soldiers lives, we are trying to save them from a multitude of wrongs. Most importantly having been lied into this horrific war and DEPLETED URANIUM! (not to mention death, dismemberment, PSTD, suicides, etc)

Support our troops is now the "new dividing line"!

Didn't Kerry say something way so many years ago about how can we ask the last soldier to die for lies?

And then I just refer back to one of my favorites. General Smedly Butler and War is a RACKET!

Peace to all of you, don't let this momentum die and once again, DU'ers you have all been incredibly awesome!

Love you all!

Peace, Anarchy1999

29. A commode spewing right wing talking points.
Just get your ass to Crawford and meet with Ms. Sheehan. Stop making such a spectacle of yourself.

BTW, I've never heard of this guy but supposedly he's been trying to meet her "for a few weeks"???? And just exactly what is "a few weeks"? Is that two weeks, three weeks, four weeks?

Ms. Sheehan will know he's about to arrive when the odor of skunk becomes overpowering in Crawford.
