Another thing Johnson said
He said that the CIA hates this administration and what they are doing and how they are doing it. Anyone else hear that?

1. He clearly inferred that.
I was in such shock listening to him rage (and being ashamed to be a republian) that i was too dumbfounded to remember much else.

He was on FIRE.

3. That is the impresion he gave
but here is what was also said, that the Administration sees
the CIA as enemies of the administration and the country.

He strongly hinted at a low level civil war inside the Federal
Government... and by the way, fingers are pointing to the
VEEPs office

5. Who is Larry Johnson?
:dunce:

I hear what he's saying, and he obviously knows, but is he a journalist, or former something or other??

Just when I was thinking this story wasn't any hotter, Johnson sets it up!

8. Oh, SNAP! So he *knows* she's an operative?
Has he commented on this as well, this whole "she's an analyst, not an operative" bit?

This things isn't going to go away, I'm now fairly sure of it.
They'll have to remove someone and hope everyone forgets about it.

12. Larry Johnson bio
His bio also mentions his terrorism analyses with news organizations.

from http://www.berg-associates.com/larryc.htm

"From 1989 until October 1993, Larry Johnson served as a Deputy Director in the U.S. State Department’s Office of Counter Terrorism. He managed crisis response operations for terrorist incidents throughout the world and he helped organize and direct the US Government’s debriefing of US citizens held in Kuwait and Iraq, which provided vital intelligence on Iraqi operations following the 1990 invasion of Kuwait. Mr. Johnson also participated in the investigation of the terrorist bombing of Pan Am 103. Under Mr. Johnson’s leadership the U.S. airlines and pilots agreed to match the US Government’s two million-dollar reward.

From 1985 through September 1989 Mr. Johnson worked for the Central Intelligence Agency. During his distinguished career, he received training in paramilitary operations, worked in the Directorate of Operations, served in the CIA’s Operation’s Center, and established himself as a prolific analyst in the Directorate of Intelligence. In his final year with the CIA he received two Exceptional Performance Awards."

7. Any good google-ers here?
Is there any way to get some background on Johnson before we swear an "oath of feality?"

Granted, he is really helping our cause right now but what do we know about him?

Other than what he says of course

10. "Imminent threat"= "laughable and idiotic"!
Edited on Wed Oct-01-03 05:59 PM by tjdee
"Johnson said that to describe Saddam as an 'imminent threat' to the West was 'laughable and idiotic'. He said many CIA officers were in 'great distress' over the way intelligence had been treated. 'We've entered the world of George Orwell,' Johnson added. 'I'm disgusted. The truth has to be told. We can't allow our leaders to use bogus information to justify war.'"

http://www.sundayherald.com/34491

That was in June.
... but....he was a FAUX contributor in 12/2001. Don't know if he left, or what. Everything I can find says he's okay though.

9. And the reason is - OSP
The Office of Special Plans was created by the neocons as their own little private "intelligence gathering" group - a shadow government within a shadow government. They even hired their own "operatives" to work in the field. This is all about privatizing everything.

The CIA is fighting for its life right now. If these people are able to take over all these people will be out of jobs!!

11. I saw him on the News Hour yesterday....was he on again today?
if so, what show?

Wilson was on Nightline last night and was fearless. Said he will name names.. who called him.. and said Rove told them "Wilsons wife is Fair game."

I couldn't sleep I was so fired up after watching him. He spoke with such resolve and conviction....hey...I like that..."conviction"...maybe that will be the end result...a conviction.
