None of the Democratic candidates can win
If we don't vote for whichever one is nominated.

1. And they all can win
Against the unelected fraud.

So let's pick the one we agree with on the issues the most with, and then work our hearts out for her or him.

Dan Brown
Saint Paul, Minnesota

4. It'd be nice if this were true
But the rest of the country doesn't think of Bush as an unelected fraud. Wishing it was so won't make it so. He's the incumbent, he's going to have a lot of money to spend, a fanatically loyal base, a strong advantage with the media (if not outright control), and no ethics or shame whatsoever.

It's going to be a tough fight at best. We need to avoid indulging in fantasies about how everyone really agrees with us or how we can get anything we want politically if we just want it badly enough. Enthusiasm is important, but so is realism.

5. Raygun on the danger of trees
The American Petroleum Institute filed suit against the EPA charged that the agency was suppressing a scientific study for fear it might be misinterpreted... The suppressed study reveals that 80 percent of air pollution comes not from chimneys and auto exhaust pipes, but from plants and trees." Presidential candidate Ronald Reagan, in 1979. There is no scientific data to support this assertion

Trees cause more pollution than automobiles do." Reagan '81
