My 95' T-Bird only gets about 19mpg town/ 22 hwy. But, I don't drive very often, maybe two or three times a week and less than 50 miles a week usually. Close to store and family.

EPA rates it 61/66, I'm actually getting 69.5 on the odometer. Tracks mileage as well as miles driven and has two trip odometers so I can track tank mileage and trip mileage. My high score was 82.2 on my way to work.

Which was a first for me. Usually I end up having to get gas just after the prices jack up. Now that I'm filling up every two and a half to three weeks, I can time the tank fills better.

but I got laid off and now have a 20 mile commute. Too far to bike and buses don't go there. Plus I'm in a carpool. If it's a short trip I bike or walk.

With the fuel consumption display standard equipment on an Insight showing mpg minute by minute, short trips really degrade mpg and you can see it happen. So my rule is No Short Trips. Even and escpecially in winter.

but it's mapquest and a family member for my navigation. The smart key is my favorite feature. I never have to take the key out of my purse. The second I touch the door handle the car reads the key tag sitting in the bottom of my purse and unlocks the door, and then I just push the start button. Neato. :)

In April, 2003, I got a brand new Honda Civic LX. In the last two years and 4 months, I have barely 3,500 miles on it. I think the tank is about 9 gallons, and I have gotten about 325 miles between fill-ups.

I bought it because of a job prospect I was hoping to get (and didn't) that would have required commuting to work. My current job is about a mile from where I live, so I walk to and from work. Living where I do, I have the entire downtown retail core within a mile or two in one direction and a thriving neighborhood with grocery stores and restaurants in the other direction. So I don't drive very much :thumbsup:

Hubby wanted an SUV (ugh) but saw the light when I showed him the environmental stats. He drives a 2003 Passat which gets pretty good mileage. I've only driven it on trips and then it gets close to 30 mpg.

We really want a Prius, but can't afford another new car while still making payments on the Passat.
