Bush in Cincy: "I'm Giving It My Best Shot."
Edited on Tue Sep-30-03 07:18 PM by VolcanoJen
http://www.enquirer.com/midday/10/10012003_News_mday_bush.html

So, our esteemed Chimp-in-Chief has arrived in my city, Cincinnati, for a mega-fundaiser among his filthy-rich-screw-the-poor constituents. God loves him, you know. Thanks, ever so, for really fucking up traffic today, Chimpers! When can we build you another stadium on our own nickle, Carl Lindner? Just say the word, and Cincinnatians will merrily march to the polls to cast their votes in favor of your much-wished-for professional hockey playground...

Anyhoo, the top story in today's ultra-conservative Cincinnati Enquirer involved Jerry Markley, an unknowing photo-op constituent who heads up the "Citizens on Patrol" group in one of our many suburbs. Glad to see that Chimpy McFlightSuit is tough on crime, except, of course, when it involves his own hand-picked political team outing an undercover CIA operative.

Excerpt from the Enquirer article:

Bush also greeted Jerry Markley, 63, founder of Citizens on Patrol in Madisonville.

"The president looked me in the eye and thanked me for the volunteerism I've done,'' said Markley. "I told the president he had my full support, and the president said, 'I'm giving it my best shot.'''

Submitted for your enjoyment,
Jennifer :-)

ON EDIT: Changed the subject line to reflect the colorful, local flavor of this thread. :-)

4. He came to Chicago today...
...and of course the "free speech" zone was like a block away and the motorcade didn't pass by for him to see (and he said a few days ago that he generally ignores the newspapers and listens to his advisors so I'm wondering if he knows people are protesting him).

But his supporters were trickling out afterward and got a good dose of "SHAME! SHAME!" and what not. One woman in our crowd remarked they're probably not used to anyone saying that to them.

I got some pictures of esteemed citizens that can afford an expensive lunch at a fundraiser flicking us off, but I don't think they'd be clear enough to identify anyone.

5. When Chimpy arrived here for the now infamous "Cincinnati Speech"
Edited on Tue Sep-30-03 07:21 PM by VolcanoJen
... about a year ago today (Oct 7, 2002, the day that Iraqi chemical weapons were within minutes of attacking the Cincy Starbucks), the big news locally was how his supporters had to wait HOURS upon HOURS to leave, thanks to the many anti-war protestors waving their signs in their collective, and smug, faces.

Sigh...

13. wow, he even sounds defensive when he's schmoozing!
Just imagine him saying it in that exasperated whine, after it's past his naptime and he thinks folks are just pestering him.
