Wolf Blitzer says "Democrats smell blood..."
Did he ever say those words when the Repubs were going after Clinton? Why is it important? Those words insinuate that the Democrats are like sharks and that they are going after the blood - not after the truth and the facts in the leaks about the CIA agent... It is a subtle point but, in my opinion, it is important to note the language of the media. Their tone and the manner they use it against the Democrats is a bias that is on every network. Forget the liberal media. The media is the enemy of the Democrats.

3. As I wrote before,
it isn't blood we're smelling, it's something much nastier... and the bad news for chimpy and friends is that a lot of people have noses.

4. Good Point, but...
...I can smell blood, becuase the Administration is hemmoreging from it's seams with so many distortions and scandals. They build upon eachother, and add pressure inside the Administration, it's only a matter of time.

5. The language of the media doesn't change. They are there to skin
whoever is in power at the moment.

Wolf Blitzer checked in with a piece about how Republican presidential candidates "smell blood" in Al Gore’s position as point man for advocating "constructive engagement" with China.

Republicans hammer Gore over U.S. policy toward China

WASHINGTON (March 10) -- Republicans are hammering the Clinton Administration, including Vice President Al Gore, over China.

They smell political blood, especially Gore's. The issue is the Clinton Administration's policy of working with China despite allegations of human rights abuses, unfair trade practices, illegal missile transfers and now, nuclear espionage

8. Good catch demdave....
But there is a difference in the blood smelling...one is about "constructive engagement" with China and the other is about illegal exposing our spies... :)

6. It's significant, because the media is realizing it's not ketchup
it's blood.

Would you want to be the source of the blood that the shark feeding frenzy homes in on?

9. if you object to the metaphor of 'smell blood'
do you also object to words like 'attack' or 'maul'? Politics is full of words implying violence. It's never been a polite debating society.

10. How about "Americans smell something fishy"
This is only partly about politics. This rises above any partisan issues. Even Repubs should be disgusted with this.

11. I had a customer earlier...
..., a Repuke precinct committeeman. I was watching CNN, and he was watching with this sad look on his face, and then he says, "Man, those folks (Repuke talking heads) remind me of people re-arranging deck chairs on the Titanic."

When they lose "Main Street", Illinois Repukes, they're going DOWN! :bounce:

12. to be fair
Wolf has been asking fairly tough questions on this for the last two days, and he has not let the Repubs get away with much if anything.

16. This is what Bush* fans and supporters want to hear...
- It's the signal that there's nothing to worry about...that the media has no plans on pursuing this.

- The free press is DEAD. Stop expecting them to tell the truth.
