OUTRAGE: "Bush Plans September 11 REMINDERS"!!
Edited on Fri Aug-19-05 05:26 PM by Bluebear
Because, we don't need their cliched "healing" that they always yap about. No, a nation just coming to terms with with happened needs REMINDING. No heart, no soul, no conscience.

=====

What began as one mother's vigil on a country road in Texas two weeks ago has grown into a nationwide protest, putting a grieving human face to the miseries of war and the misgivings about President Bush's strategies in Iraq. It's still not clear whether Cindy Sheehan's effort was the start of a lasting anti-war movement or a fleeting summertime story fueled by media-savvy liberal interest groups....

While her backers maintain the vigil in Texas, Republican Party leaders are worried that the so-called Peace Mom has brought long-simmering unease over Iraq to a boil by galvanizing anti-war activists. They fear that protests will strike a chord with the large number of Americans who have long felt uneasy about the war yet have been giving Bush the benefit of the doubt.

The president's falling poll numbers — less than 40 percent approve of his handling of Iraq — could drop further, threatening his military plans in Iraq, his agenda at home and Republican political prospects in the 2006 congressional and gubernatorial elections.....

Changing the subject would help Bush, and he has a chance to do that with the upcoming fourth anniversary of the Sept. 11, 2001, terrorist strikes. Aides say the president plans to invoke Sept. 11 in his weekly radio address Saturday as he begins a weeklong push to remind Americans why he believes the United States must stay on the offensive in Iraq and not bow to terrorists. He plans to address the Veterans of Foreign Wars on Monday and a National Guard group on Wednesday.

1. and why does this surprise us?
He invoked Sept. 11th in the town that suffered Sept. 11th so he could grab a few votes from the couch-potato sect. Why wouldn't he do so again?

4. I'm thinking he will have one of those backdrops....
with all the words repeated over and over like some idiot savent wrote it...

KEEPING US SAFE KEEPING US SAFE KEEPING US SAFE KEEPING US SAFE

and two twin towers with dry ice "smoke" pluming out of the windows for his future speeches.

13. Somethin' tells me we'll never get
to a "post-9/11 world".

The boy uses it to justify everything from torture to parties.

26. There's a moment in the film "9/11" by the French brothers...
Right towards the beginning they show the sunny morning in NYC and an AM radio is giving the weather and that one moment makes me SO nostalgic for what we will never know again, evidently.

5. Exactly....
They will exploit 9/11 to no end. It's eventually going to blow up in their faces - the 9/11 families have got to be sick and tired of this.

President Bush reading "My Pet Goat" while a second plane was heading to smash into the WTC and also one was heading towards the Pentagon and one was crashing over PA. Already, hundreds were dead from the first plane slamming into the WTC. This is your leader in action during the worst terror attack in the nations history, and he was aware of it at the time he was reading, and this is what he chose to do.

9. Over the last 3 years Bush has gotten a small approval bounce in September
http://www.pollingreport.com/BushJob.htm

That does not mean that he will this year, but if he does, we'll know why.

Some Americans still have warm and fuzzy memories of Bush standing on top of that pile at Ground Zero with the megaphone.

20. After he flew around the US for how long?
They need to be reminded of that, too, not just the megaphone. He came to New York DAYS(!) later. Perhaps his cowering in fright from Cindy will help those people who believe he was brave back in 2001 realize the truth.

14. I'm not surprised
This idiot will do anything to be self serving. I am really over the Bushies REALLY over them. They use death and horror to justify their ideology. I saw the 2nd plane hit the WTC and I will never forget it, the Bushies have no right to invoke Sept 11. He sat reading My Pet Goat as thosands of us ran around helping other people, and witnessed death and horror. I am at a loss for words to really express my outrage.

22. Sweet Mithras
I still remember the sound off about 9/11 at teh RNC prior to the election. Someone needs to make a soundboard of all those repuke cronies invoking it for political causes. That's all they see it as, a tool to be used to gain more votes.

27. How many times has Bush invoked 9/11 ???
Edited on Fri Aug-19-05 06:04 PM by Gronk Groks
Hasn't that well gone dry by now ??? It is like a mantra for the Bush-bots to justify EVERYTHING !!!

If the American public can't figure this out by now, perhaps we deserve this disaster that is unfolding before our eyes...

31. just one more part of BushCo's ongoing fear reinforcement campaign . . .
once people stop being afraid, BushCo is cooked, and they know it . . . to carry out their policies, they have to keep Americans in a constant state of fear . . . if the American people somehow become unafraid (God forbid!), the foundation of BushCo's totalitarianism collapses . . . then they're screwed . . .
