Ask the White House today!
John Walters will be the guest today. Ask him any questions you may have about the Drug War.

1. Done: here it is.
As prohibition clearly proved, you can't stop trafficking in "illegal" drugs, such as alcohol. People will always find a way to ingest or smoke substances that make them feel better. Always.

As someone versed in the use of medicinal herbs, I can tell you, without reservation, there are a number of substances growing in your back yard or on your city block that will give you a mild to moderate "high" legally, free of government interference. As you are well aware, it is literally impossible to keep people from using unregulated substances for recreation.

The War on Drugs has proven to be the "War on Marijuanna" as is evidenced by the disproportionate number of arrests related largely to that substance. Our tax dollars, that could be better spent on actually implementing "No Child Left Behind" policies or caring for the mutilated soldiers returning from the Iraqi invasion, are being spent on an easily grown illegal weed that, used properly, could benefit the textile, biodiesel, medical and adult recreation industries.

My question is "Why": Why are you wasting our money, our time, our youth? Are you doing it so you can employ a large number of people in a manufactured goverment industry and skim off a handsome paycheck with superb benefits for yourself?

It's not winnable. At this level it's not even really manageable. Just regulate it and be done with it. For god's sake, grow up and realize you can't legislate morality.
