Presidential candidate Wesley Clark is scheduled to appear on "The Tonight Show with Jay Leno" Wednesday.

The retired general will be in Southern California to campaign for Governor Gray Davis.

Davis's chief opponent in a recall election is actor Arnold Schwarzenegger, who announced his candidacy on the show.

Wednesday Event in Los Angeles

General Clark will be appearing with Governor Davis tomorrow (Wednesday, October 1) at noon at the LA Fire Department Museum (also called Old Fire Station #27) at 1355 N. Cahuenga Blvd. (at the corner of DeLongpre) in Los Angeles.

If you plan on attending, we recommend that you get there as early as 11:30 to start assembling outside the LAFD museum. The theme is recognizing some "Real Action Heroes!"

1. All RIGHT, Gen. Clark!
Kudos for appearing with Gov. Davis in support of democarts and against the recall.

Good move, and thanks for the help.

In light of that now infamously skewed poll over the weekend, we need the help.

5. Thanks!
I'm hoping the poll backfires against Ahnuld. My theory is that his supporters are the slacker, casual voters anyway (and many of them might not have even registered), and if they think he's got it in a walk, maybe they won't bother to show.

15. That's what I was thinking
It might cause some Arnold voters to stay home and some to vote their "conscience" with McClintock. Probably not many, but this thing will be close enough that small shifts will have big effects.

19. What the hell did they do with that poll anyways captain?
I don't get how the results changed as much as they did. Smells like last weeks oysters.

21. The poll sample was under 800 people,
and apparently derived from a voter list of signatories on the recall petition crossed with likely voters.

not exactly the clean sample one looks for at this stage of the race.

22. that makes me REALLY HAPPY
i'm not even supporting clark, but the situation in california with gray davis and the recall is getting really bad. we need all the help we can get. hopefully clark will be able to bring any kind of attention to stop this. and remember, gray davis is also a vietnam vet like wes clark is. when kerry came they campaigned at some veterans centers. campaigning at the fire department museum is also a good idea. it's something that just recently opened up also. hopefully clark can help to stop this.
