Communist party helping Cindy ? Anyone else hear this?????
A couple co-workers told me that a local radio station claimed that the communist party was helping Cindy Sheehan. Evidently, the claim was made around 6:30AM on AM-580 WTCM in Traverse City Michigan.

I am not sure if it was a news broadcast, or just the comments of a DJ. They have one in particular over there that is not always given to the absolute truth. I phoned in a complaint during the last election about his behavior on the air.

Does anyone else know about this?

2. both members or just one of them?
The Communist party??? What is this, 1955? There are what, a handful of Communists left? So what if they try to attach themselves to Cindy, I suspect they're vastly outnumbered by the American vets who also oppose the war who are also backing her..

42. I was thinking the same thing.
Since Gus Hall died, the pathetic remnants of the Communist Party seem to amuse themselves by picking lint from their navels. Only the paranoid would worry about them.
As an aside, one of my neighbors, a gay Bushbot, insisted last week that I am a Communist. That was an escalation from his previous claim that I'm a Socialist. I think that he hears that shit from Rush and O'Liely. Personally, I'm a liberal-moderate Democrat.

Organizations - I think it's ANSWER - is that what they are talking about?

Found the Salon Article about it - http://archive.salon.com/politics/feature/2002/10/16/protest/

Anyway that could be what they are talking about.

12. UFPJ has been with Cindy (Medea B.); I haven't seen ANSWER there
Not that I care if they are there, but I have heard that ANSWER does (or did) have some kind of link with some far-left ideologues.

I'm a supporter of UFPJ, but I am grateful that ANSWER has been at the forefront of trying to stop the invasion of Iraq. I just don't like a lot of what I find to be rigid ideology from them.

37. That's my take, too: I appreciate their activism, but their doctrinaire
approach to politics is, at best, past its sell-by date.

But they're mostly uni-age people, a time of life when perceptive people know something's badly wrong without having had enough experience to develop a personal conception and response to the wrongness. So it's hard to fault them--at least they're trying!

Edited on Wed Aug-17-05 08:16 AM by LibInTexas
Because Code Pink is supporting Cindy (and we all know that she is being run as a dupe by them and other "fringe" groups--give me a break)...Anyway, the claim is that Code Pink is somehow affiliated with the communist party due to an anti-war demonstration in D.C. where they both participated.

So from that you have a giant leap in logic...Cindy being supported by communists.

But that's what these guys do. Stretch and distort the truth. And outright lie.

22. It comes up a lot with these guys when they talk about Code Pink...that
pink is just short for pinko, therefore the name comes from being communists.

They know it's not true, that the pink image comes from them being WOMEN, but they like to leave the sheeple with the impression that Code Pink is about the commies.

I guarantee you if you ask the average ditto-head, freeper, whatever, they'll swear Code Pink is communist.

21. What Communist Party?
This is the really stupid thing about charges like that. What the hell do they even mean by "The Communist Party?" Back when there was a Soviet Union, you could at least argue that whatever American organization you were attacking was a front for the BIG Communist Party--you know, the one running the Soviet Union. Well, Soviet communism is no more, though I suppose Putin may eventually bring back a repackaged and retitled version of it--so who's the Big Bad Bogeyman 'behind' it all? A dozen ex-graduate students hawking copies of "Worker's World?"

Any time the C word comes up, that's when you know the guy's got nothin'. Jesus, people, it's 2005, update the database. Now if you could prove she was being funded by Al Qaeda, then you'd have something.

If some communist/marxist/trotskyite fringe group against the war supports her, so what?

I hope you laughed in their face. "The communist party" held up as a boogeyman these days? Hay-sus H. Christ!

Is she "on orders from Moscow" too? Ask them.

You have to hold this up like a mirror, so they can see and hear the absolute absurdity of their own words. Sometimes, you really do have to humiliate someone for saying something stupid.
