The Greek plane crash doesn't make sense. Where is the pilot?
Searchers still were looking for three bodies, including the plane's German pilot, fire officials said. The body of the Cypriot co-pilot was found in the cockpit.

http://news.yahoo.com/s/ap/20050815/ap_on_re_eu/greece_plane_crash

The plane was on autopilot, three people are missing, including the pilot. Was this terrorism? Could it have been a test run for something bigger?

Did the pilot and the two other missing bail out after the plane decompressed?

It sure looks like the planes integrity was intack

Why did the police raid the airlines office?

They are not telling us everything

and it sure doesn't smell right

I know one thing we should NOT do. Do NOT wait for an investigation. We need to consider all things that are possible and in particular those that are highly unlikely and most especially those things that are silly.

Once the report does come out, we should all strive to make asses of ourselves by pretending to be aeronautical engineers and critiquing the findings of the experts.

Because, we all know this was a double dog dare secret mission to do something sinister, planned by 'them'

6. OK, where is the pilot, doesn't that seem strange?
how come the offices were raided?

look at how they handled the brazilian who was killed by the Brits:

I will wait for an investigation, but please do NOT assume that just because there is an investigation everything will be answered

The 9/11 commision report should tell you how selective they are?

this is good!!!!!!

Why why why????

No answers.

Its a PLOT.........RUN FOR YOUR LIVESSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSS

(here's my contribution: The pilot was abducted from the plane by martians who drilled a hole in the plane and caused it to decompress. They needed him for experiments and will return him in 2050 after they have re-tooled him as Elvis. He will open at Graceland on New Years Eve, 2050)

there is no need to ridicule the questions I have

I have just as much right to express myself as you do, and I really don't appreciate you imply I am some kind of nut by asking why

I am just speculating, I didn't put this under latest breaking news

Do you have a problem with that?

trying to solve the problem at its source, IMO. The HVAC contols, perhaps, somewhere in the back or down in the hold.

Caveat: I've no flippin' idea where that might be on a 737 or whether it is in fact physically addressable from within the aircraft.

19. That's right.
If we wait for an investigation, then that gives Them time for a coverup. It's only by making speculation on the internet that we can arrive at the Truth.

The big question we should be asking is if Mitt Romney is behind this. Because of his reputation as a moderate, he needs to do something big to give him street cred with the Inner Sanctum so that they'll select him in 2008. While there are some big differences between this and the tractor-trailer crash in San Diego last week, it still has the mark of something that Romney would do. Given this pattern and Romney's close ties with the covert Army weather control unit, it's pretty clear that we can expect to see some serious flooding somewhere in the south sometime in the next few months.

(Edit to add that this post was addressed to Jacobin) and his remarks about tinfoil.)

cont:

the information that does come out in bits and pieces and assembling them and following them patiently. There is nothing wrong with speculation. There is nothing wrong with joining others who are doing the same self-investigator sort of thing. It IS useless to proclaim what happened from 39000 miles a way - especially reading U.S. newspapers or waatching U.S. tv.

It's time for www.refdesk.com and their news connections (furrener ones) and the internet to find out who is saying what - keeping in mind the Greece-Turkey sensitivites in this case.

In the meantime... it's work time... who was on the aircraft and why and who they were connected with.

Sounded simple initially - altitude problem.

Hazardous materials?
Deficiency of execution?
Deficiency of technical wiring?
Dud parts?

Now some are missing? Jumped or some thrown?

The overall agenda is to try to find out if the U.S., Israel, or British intelligence services are hovering.

And in the meantime, keep ears tuned for hints of remote controlled aircraft, not auto-pilot. Remote is trendy.

It's a wide world starting out, but then it funnels down and there is nothing wrong with looking at it. I read that FOX practically begged some spokesperson to say it was terrorist related.

Why not allow mere citizens to join if they don't insist that they know the answers prematurely?

The plane decompressed slowly and everybody was in the process of freezing to death.

12. My guess:
The pilot left the cockpit and the co-pilot didn't go on oxygen per regulations. The plane decompressed and the pilot couldn't make it back in time.

When one member of the flight deck crew leaves the cockpit the other member is supposed to go on oxygen for this very reason.

Just a guess.

I even posted a question on a pilot discussion board and the confirmed you are correct. I guess I watched too many 70's air disaster movies. I'm a private pilot.

Anyway, I watched the former DOT inspector general (last name Shiavo-no relation) on MSNBC this evening and she said there IS a regulation that the remaining crew member HAS to put on the oxygen when the pilot leaves the flight deck. Oh well, I'm in good company. She's behind the times too.

BTW, love your name. I keep cracking up while typing this.

21. That I can believe
different people could have different physical endurance

Most people can deal without Oxygen for a minute, those who are in good physical shape a little longer

If the plane came down to 20000 feet, you can expect a few people to be able to survive if they are conditioned

Look at mountain climber

30. Someone from another thread said
maybe there were some people in lavatories.

When the plane depressurized, they were saved by that.

When it came down to a lower altitude, they could then open the door, saw everyone dead and tried to save the plane but failed.

Have no idea if that is even possible, but has the weird ring of possibility to me.

18. Interesting tin-foil tidbit from "X-Files"....
Aug 6, 2005
excerpt:
Greek Cypriots oppose flight to north
NICOSIA, Cyprus, Aug. 6 (UPI)
-- The Greek-Cypriot government is trying to prevent U.S. congressional officials from reaching the island through an airport on its northern, Turkish side.

excerpt:
The small airport is in the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus. The Greek Cypriot government maintains it is under Turkish occupation and thus operating illegally.

excerpt:

The Cyprus News Agency quoted Chrysostomides as saying the Greek-Cypriot government was aware of the planned flight to Tymbou and has used diplomatic channels and Cypriot expatriates in the United States to try and prevent it.

Police in northern Greece also arrested a man who claimed to have received a telephone text message from his cousin who was on the plane before it crashed.

The man, who was identified as 32-year-old Nektarios-Sotirios Voutas, called Greek television stations shortly after the Helios Airways flight crashed, saying his cousin Nikos Petridis sent him a message that read: “Farewell, cousin, here we're frozen.”

40. Something else which makes you go hmmmm!
From Sydney Morning Herald:

Most of the passengers were local government officials in Martinique who had been on holiday with their families, an official at the Fort-de-France airport in Martinique said.

Link: http://www.smh.com.au/news/world/another-jet-crash-160-killed-in-venezuela/2005/08/16/1123958068170.html

I don't have an explantion for this. I just find it interesting that the pilot is missing, and the majority of passengers were government officials.
