"A lot of people would like to talk to the president" - I wondered
how long it would take them to think of that excuse. Seems like I've seen it a couple of times today in the "news". It really doesn't matter anymore, chimp's approval is headed into the teens where it belongs. The damage that Cindy has done is going to be long lasting.

3. You talk -at- Bush, not -to- or -with-.

Stay the course, bring 'em on, and all that.

4. However, those who have the right thing to say do get to talk to the chimp
I notice in the local sunday paper a piece on the so called "death tax." It seems one opponent, not a legislator, was able to conference with * on AFI while * was on his way to another one of his invitation only events. Cindy's problem is that there's nothing in it in terms of monetary payoff for the chimp's true base, the filthy rich.

5. His approval rate won't get to the teens.
There is too much lockstep support on the Republican side. His base level is probably 30-35%, so he's already most of the way there. There really isn't much non-Republican support left.

6. If the chimp has time for little leaguers and big donors,
I'm sure he could take a few minutes out of his nap time to speak with a grieving mother. That excuse won't wash. Wonder what they'll float next. Possibilities:

Chimp has laryngitis - permanently.

Chimp thinks its unfair to meet with only one dead soldier's mother. Would have to arrange a time and place convenient for almost 1900, clearly a logistics nightmare.

Memorial Day would be the appropriate time, but unfortunately chimp's calendar is booked that day through '08.

Road to the front gate of the ranch is in need of immediate pothole repair and not expected to reopen anytime soon.

It's customary for chimp to greet visitors with a WH souvenir, and they're currently on back order.

Following Cheney and Rummy's visit, "Western White House" is being fumigated. No visitors allowed on property.

I'm sure chimp's handlers will be well compensated for lying their asses off to the press until he flees Crawford ahead of an angry mob at the end of the month.
