The kind of independent counsel that should investigate Wilsongate

If in fact a special counsel is appointed to investigate the Wilson/White House/CIA leak I have the perfect profile of the kind of person that should be appointed.

He or she should have close ties to the AFL-CIO, ACLU and People for the American Way. He should be a liberal, registered Democrat, perhaps with some experience in running for elective office himself. He should have made many campaign contributions to liberal Democrats in the past, and he should be somebody who has publicly chastised the Bush Administration in the past. He should have close ties to Hollywood, trial lawyers trade associations, feminist groups, gay rights groups and civil rights groups.

I have just described a liberal Ken Starr.
