anyone remember Samantha Smith?? russia? cold war??
Cindy Sheehan reminds me of her-

A 'lowly' citizen, having the guts to ASK WHY?-
And showing the rest of us, that sometimes we just have to step up and demand answers- believe we are entilted to be heard, no matter our age, our nationality, or our social standing.
After all, is the president not truly a SERVANT of the people-?? he is NOT KING, NOT DICTATOR, and not GOD.

Funny, Samantha was given an audience with the Russian leader,
but i don't recall RR inviting her in.

here is a link to her short, but meaningfull life-
i was pregnant with my first child, when she began her quest.

4. yeah, that's her-
i was listening to Cindy, and thinking about her REALNESS-
and it reminded me of Samantha-

if you have the time, click on the link, and read her letter, and her efforts to hold leaders accountable.

5. Thank you for reminding us of Samantha.. she was so special.
I try to raise my stepdaughters to have that kind of courage and conviction, but it does truly come from somewhere deep inside, and people like Cindy and Samantha are born with it.

6. I was all set to make some smart ass comment about the plane crash -
you know, as to how Herbert Walker had her killed with a top secret gravity disruptor ray or some such, but then I read the bio and discovered that the real world had beaten me to it. *sigh*

7. hey, that's ok-
personally i was pissed at her father for letting her fly-.... but it was misplaced anger- The baby i was carrying when she wrote her letter died in utero, and she was my only daughter, so i somehow connected Samantha with my never cooed over, and MUCH anticipated baby.

Samantha was a girl with pluck- and even though her life was short, it was VERY meaningful.-

i hope Cindy goes on for a LONG time- using her voice, and her loss to bring something 'good' out of this mess- out of this slaughter. out of so much sorrow and pain. And improving this world for ALL sons, daughters, mothers, fathers everywhere.
