Imagine this scenario
Imagine this hypothetical scenario:

The year is 1993. 18 Marines have just been killed in the Blackhawk Down incident in Somalia. Then the mother of one of the Marines decides to camp out in front of the Clinton White House demanding a meeting with the president. She tells people that she was told that the Somalia mission was a peacekeeping operation, not an exercise in nation-building, much less a war. She wants answers from Clinton.

Then the conservative media machine kicks into gear. Rush Limbaugh and other right wing talk show hosts grant her daily sympathetic interviews, nascent internet message boards publicize her plight, conservative magazines do repeated stories on her plight demanding to know when the mean old President Clinton will grant a meeting with her. Conservative politicians come to visit her and show their support. White male conservatives all over the country descend on her in front of the White House in a show of solidarity.

All we would hear about is how those elitist liberal Democrats hate the military, disrespect the service of our troops, how insensitive they are to military families and take the country into phony wars.

1. Well, had the Clenis committed genocide and killed US troops,
then it might have happened. Plus, I bet THEY would be happy to exploit grieving mothers, if Clinton was a psycho killer like Bushler.

2. Clinton wouldn't make her wait outside.
Whether I agree or disagree with the Clintons' recent activities I don't think he would have ignored a grieving mother like that.

5. That Is True, Ma'am
She would have been seen, and emerged from the meeti8ng saying, at the very least, that he had shown her real synpathy and concern and sorrow over her distress, even if she continued to dislike him....

6. I agree with you
There is no way he would have let the situation reach this point.
