HELP: I need the original Sheehan letter to counteract Drudge smear
I have several links up on the PDA blog:

http://blog.pdamerica.org/?p=198

But the link to the original Sheehan letter that counteracts the Drudge smear has gone dead. Does anyone have another link to that letter?

3. Sorry Will - misread your post - thought you meant the original
article the RW was smearing with.

4. Is that accurate?
Her story does seem to have changed. Has she addressed the change?

5. I look at it this way. While I have been on page 596 from the beginning
this woman is getting on page 100 now. I think it was natural for her to feel comforted by the administration after her son was killed. Since then, she has learned that it was all a pack of lies, like many Americans. Can a person not live and learn? Suggesting that she is "flip-flopping" is a bunch of horse shit that repukes love to spew. We learn and adjust our opinions thusly.

6. Has she responded?
Just wondering whether she has said anything to explain the difference. I'm not blaming her. Just wondering whether she's said anything yet.

7. I'm unsure. I realized you weren't blaming her. I'll post a link if I can
find a response. I had just been ranting about this subject to my SO after reading the Drudge sludge. Peace.

17. Here is a quote:
"I was still in shock then," Sheehan said in a telephone interview with The Associated Press. "It takes about eight or nine months for the shock to subside. Now, I'm angry. I want the troops home.

9. She said on the radio that at that time, she was in shock
from her son's death, and that the media should have combed Bush's statements about Iraq's apparent "threat" and WMDs as close as they analyzed her comments.

10.  Bush's story regarding the war has changed over time
since his earlier justifications were full of holes. That alone is sufficient reason for Cindi S. to change her opinion of Bush and the war.

14. Plus the fact that her son had died eleven weeks before...
She clearly stated in the article that she did not approve of the handling of the war, and that the fact that all the families of the fallen soldiers could come together was "a gift. The "gift" line had nothing to do with anything Bush said or did.

She'd been through some pretty powerful emotions over the course of a few days, and I'm certainly not going to hold her responsible for every word that comes out of her mouth when it comes on the heels of her child's death.

These smears against a grieving mother make me downright ashamed to share a country with these people.

8. How right you are.
It takes months to begin to think halfway clearly after your child has been killed. Her numbness is wearing off.

12. It was up on DU about 5PM yesterday

I started bookmarking Cindy Sheehan right after that. It was the one thing that moved me to bookmarking the story and I regret I did not go back to get it. I say it was up between 5 and 6 PM and it was the original letter she wrote about meeting with the Resident where he asked "Who are we honoring today?" It should be a searchable phrase in the archives.

16. Is this part of it?
Edited on Mon Aug-08-05 06:21 PM by firefox
It is the letter being presented at Daily Kos- http://www.dailykos.com/story/2005/7/5/194826/1471

Or maybe In response, Sheehan wrote:
"We want our loved ones' sacrifices to be honored by bringing our nation's sons and daughters home from the travesty that is Iraq IMMEDIATELY, since this war is based on horrendous lies and deceptions. Just because our children are dead, why would we want any more families to suffer the same pain and devastation that we are? We would like for him to explain this 'noble cause' to us, and plan to ask him why Jenna and Barbara are not in harm's way, if the cause is so noble. If he is not ready to send the twins, then he should bring our troops home immediately. We will demand a speedy withdrawal."

You probably mean the one that set up her meeting in the first place.
