Watch the Republicans start to panic if Bush hits the 30's
Edited on Sun Aug-07-05 03:51 PM by quinnox
Can't wait, fingers crossed that Bush's numbers will continue to sink until even Gallup has his approval in the 30 percentile range. And then the fun will begin. The republicans in congress will start to panic big time, mass defections, and refusal to go along with the idiot W anymore for fear of losing their cushy jobs in Congress.

4. WOW, What the Hell did Truman do to achieve that?
Maybe I'm showing a lack of historical perspective, but I can't think of anything that bad that went down during Truman's presidency to get such terrible numbers.

7. It's already there
These are the prop up numbers, the actuals if they were to be revealed would cause great agony, wailing, and gnashing of teeth amongst our obtuse brethern.

18. Opinion polling didn't really exist then.
Edited on Sun Aug-07-05 07:56 PM by Taxloss
The infrastructure wasn't there.

19. The numbers for Harding are not what you think.
First of all, there was no Gallup or Zogby running around calling people for approval/disapproval ratings in the 1920s.

Second, by the time Teapot Dome broke, he was already in the grave.

9. if the DEMS were a true opposition party that might be the case but
the majority of democrats are apologist accomplices, therefore no threat, so no need to panic no matter how low bush's numbers go.

there's always feinstein to buck up the bushistas.

10. I don't think it will ever get to that point.
Oh, believe me, if it does, I'll be the first to admit I'm wrong and throw a party.

But I don't think the powers that be in the administration will let things get so bad that they'll drop below 40%. They'll pull something out of their hats.

15. Yeah, like another "terra" attack on a liberal U.S. city.
Ratings in the toilet, Monkey Boy is down on the "Ranch" and September is coming - deja vu anyone?

13. Some of them are already cracking
Frist has flip-flopped on stem cell research, Santorum suddenly can't make up his mind on issues, Novak popped his cork on national TV. W. is down on his raunch hiding out, hoping that it'll all blow over, or that Daddy will come in again and fix everything.

17. it could hit 10% and we'd never know....Gore won, but media didn't run
the story

eery thing happened during the 2000 campaign......nearly every day I was reading and posting on Malloy's message board .....

there were a lot of complaints about the media not covering Gore accurately etc......one of the regular posters, kidding around (he thought), said after seeing media coverage in the campaign, what if Gore wins and we're never told

and we all know that's exactly what happened

21. His approval rating on Iraq is well below 40
...and I predict a sub-40 per cent freefall in chimp's approval ratings as soon as price of gas hits 3 bucks a gallon, which at this rate won't be long from now.
