The GOP is in serious trouble...
GOP - Greedy, Obtuse and Petulant.

The GOP recovered relatively quickly after the Watergate scandal and managed to get Reagan elected. That was after the first time that they were caught red handed for their lies, stonewalling, cheating and obfuscating.

Now we are at a crossroads. Shrub and his cabal has turned to shit everything they have touched over the last few years. The GOP has supported them 100%. Now that the tide is turning and all the bodies they have burried are surfacing. They have done such a bad job at burrying th bodies and lying about everything as we went along, that their own lies and incompetence is coming back to bite them. The press is slowly turning against them and finally, a majority of Americans sees the GOP and Bush for what they are, liars and cheaters.

It has come so far, that wacko conseravtives like Michael savage are attacking the shrub and his "bush-bots" from the right. When it is all said and done and even part of ehat these guys have done to our country surfaces, it will be a very longtime before the GOP regains any credibility. They have all supported disastrous policy after disastrous policy. Americans are waking up.Libertarians and true conservatives are deserting the party and the independents have been mostly lost. Take heart America, their day of reckoning is near. Way to many lies to try and control.

The GOP is on its way out. Have faith and continue to fight hard.

1. Glad We Think Alike
So many people I know are depressed about the administration. I have become a cheerleader in my old age. But as you said, we have to have faith and continue the fight. Without hope.....

2. I will keep fighting but one must account for the stupidity of the
American voters.
These people who voted against their own best interest in Nov. 04 and 00 have proved they are stupid and moreover gullible.

5. I agree
They have fault lines that are exposed, ironically enough, by success. Many of Bush's followers expect him to be able to do pretty much anything he wants (or, more accurately, anything they want); the fact that he can't astounds and annoys them.

9. Bob Roberts
I wonder how many people now complaining about Roberts failed to vote against W? They may have the right to complain, but I find their surprise to be a bit weird.

11. Grazie
Thanks. I have a brother who frequents Ann Coulter's chatroom, and they say the most amazing things about DU. They almost have me convinced that I will be banned for saying anything that is out of the "leftist" lockstep thinking that allegedly pervades this site.

Are there threads here about Ann and her site?

Thanks again.

13. People themselves are so one-sided it doesn't matter.
Let's say *co goes out and Dems go in. When peak oil happens, the Dems get the hit. Who is going to look back at all the actions taken back to the late 1970s? NOBODY. Though it ought to be EVERYBODY. People have such short short-term memories they'll be happier to blame those currently in power.

People don't think about the core problem. Just the immediate symptom.
