3. You need a majority to impeach. We lack that.

7. If the Democrat's tried to impeach him now,
they'd look like asses. They would not win, and several senators who understand politics would actually vote against the procedings, because they would not want to get caught in that mess.

9. I don't care about them
We the people have every right and even a duty to be SCREAMING for impeachment! It is OUR government, not theirs.

15. As much as I understand KareninMA's reasoning...
I'd have to go with this being our duty as Americans.

This is not about fucking politics anymore. This is about the honor, integrity and most importantly, the well-being of our beloved country. These evil, maniacal madmen have taken over our government and are trying to destroy the very fabric of our Republic. These imposters have an agenda and patriotism isn't on it. I'm scared as hell right now but I won't cower to these ratbastards. They have unlawfully occupied OUR HOUSE. This is our Country, damnit! America is our home. It is our responsibility to protect and defend it in times of crisis. So...

Let's start screaming!!!!!

Peace.

23. one of my personal tests: asking, what would MLK do?
Martin Luther King Jr. would have accomplished very little if he had based his actions on the odds of winning.

2. I just don't understand how half of America is so dense
I've tried and tried to explain and reason with pro-Bushies but the only thing I hear out of their mouths sounds something like this:

"....blah, blah, terrorist, terrorist, terrorist, blah, blah, blah, , blah blah, terrorist, terrorist, terrorist....."

8. I have noticed that their repertoire becomes more limited by the day
"we are fighting them over there, so we don't have to fight them here"
"Plame is a desk jockey, Wilson lied"

did I leave anything out?

They are backed in a corner with only a few stale and failing talking points left.

10. You're right.
I'd like to add that a Vast Majority in the US thinks he's a lying ass.

We spent about 1 month in Europe last summer. EVERYBODY we talked to despises Bush. They still seem to think Americans are OK, but that might have changed since the most recent election.

My teenage son spent about 3 months in Europe last summer. He said he couldn't believe the hatred toward Bush. Even his 2 friends who went with him (who have Repub parents) ended up cursing Bush's name, even before their new European friends did.

The facts are in, folks. Bush is hated. Even in Antarctica and the Galapagos Islands, he's hated. That's why his mouth droops so much. He knows.

13. Maybe, the question should be WHY he's allowed to get away with it.
Edited on Sun Jul-24-05 11:12 PM by Just Me
I will not pretend to know the answer. I can only contribute my observations.

1) Our people's desire to "be good" has been exploited by amoral predators for quite some time;

2) Our people have been psychologicallyy "pacified" into powerlessness via a media that NEVER acknowledges the struggle existent in this country (completely excludes/denies the impoverished and beggars on our streets and ignores the majority of people who struggle to exist);

3) Human snakes like Falwell have exploited God and Christianity to control the oppressed,...for what? Power/Money.;

4) The neoCON CULT figure themselves so fucking awesome that, they dictate history without the rest of us. This CULT believes in perpetual division for purposes of control.

SICK FREAKS IN CHARGE!!!!

I suppose it takes this level of human evil to FORCE us to think about enforcing limits. I just don't know where this horror will lead. I remain viligent in my confidence that, humanity has stepped up,...and will ultimately prevail against another CULT.

From this time forward, I will refer to all those associated with the BushCo/neoCON/DLCorporacrats as the "CORPORACULTISTS"

21. He's getting away with it because he is working for the Corporate
business interests who are dragging in the money as a result of his policies. He is doing what he is being told to do. And then there's the rw religious dominionists who are theological imperialists and are quite happy to ride on the backs of the corporatist, regardless of how much death and destruction their actions cause. Their theological positions have NOTHING in common with the basic principles of Christianity.

14. He gets away with it because
The Republicans control Congress and wouldn't allow a hearing even if the evidence were rock solid.

Let's hope for good results in next year's congressional elections!

25. I agree.
"These imposters have an agenda and patriotism isn't on it."

You can say that again. The manner in which they have usurped the term "patriotic" is really quite upsetting, because in reality nothing they do is patriotic.

This country was founded on the idea that Americans have fundamental rights and liberties. A true patriot is one who stands up for those rights and liberties. A patriot is not one who starts stripping away those rights and liberties by stirring up fears about problems that have existed for years! Furthermore, "patriots" do not shut down dialog about vital issues by calling those that call government actions into question "unpatriotic"! There is nothing more patriotic than questioning the government, and the founding fathers (whom the Right claim to revere so much) would agree!

The Right has patriotism confused with nationalism. At times in the past they have seemed closely related, but at the moment I would say that two things could not be farther apart. The Right is nationalistic. They will not hesitate to admit that they would like to see the United States triumph over all the world, if need may be. They don't shy away from saying that, when it comes down to brass tacks, they do not care about throwing the Constitution to the wayside to acheive that goal.

That isn't patriotism. If these people lived in New England circa 1775 - early 1776, they probably would deem the founding fathers as unpatriotic as well.

20. Um ... have you noticed that -
We don't even have the semblance of a "free press." Well, save for some Editorials and Editorial Cartoons that would be impossible to squelch completely in a NON-Police state.

I'd say the Corporate Media CEOs are keeping the American Sheeple both dumbed down and distracted into oblivion.

Hell, the only true and genuine quality productions on classic cable is "storm stories" on The Weather Channel. That's just plain sad when it speaks to the sustained enlightenment of our Country's Middle class. :puke:

22. easy
he has the corporate owned media to spread his propaganda and lies. He is lucky that half of the population in the US is too lazy or too busy to find out the truth.

I often wonder what folks from other countries think when they see what passes for news here on our TVs. I know I am embarrassed and ashamed about it.

24. The Chimp doesn't care what we Americans think of him,
why then, would he care what the world thinks of him? As to your question, I ask myself the same every DAMN day! They impeached a President for a sexual affair, but this lying non-elected war mongering war profiteering murderous thug gets away with all of the above and more and they fawn over him and call us liberals un American and unpatriotic. It staggers the imagination.
