Does anybody know about Gary McKinnon's plight?
http://www.sundayherald.com/50934

Just heard him interviewed on the BBC. He hacked into all sorts of US Military and NASA systems and found them to be highly hackable and terribly insecure. He was looking for information on UFO's.

He denies having done any damage whatsoever but left a lot of messages on the systems just to alert them that their systems were highly penetrable. He got busted by the Brits and was facing a possible five year sentence there.

However, the US government is demanding his extradition to be tried in Virginia in a secret trial because the information he found, if made public, would be sensational and cause the US harm.

Gary said that he found proof that technology exists to create free energy that would eliminate the necessity for "wars for oil".

Oh and here, he would face a potential 70 year sentence.

He is hoping that the British govenment will block his extradition.

Sheesh. Why doesn't the US just hire him to beef up security on these systems instead?

Our judicial system is so unbelievably draconian and completely broken.

1. If he is that good, he should be brought on board as an asset.
It isn't just the "free energy" gambit he's talking about; it's the lax security in the military and NASA systems.

Unfortunately, because he was looking for info on UFO's, it will be difficult for most people to take him seriously.

I hope the Brits fight the extradition. U.S. government is a bully.
